The short answerUpdated Aug 13, 2026

Indiana sports run on four levels at once. The Colts, Pacers, and Fever carry the pro side out of Indianapolis. The colleges supply the rivalries: Indiana in Bloomington, Purdue in West Lafayette, Notre Dame in South Bend, plus Butler and Ball State. Motorsports takes a month of its own every May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. And IHSAA basketball and football still fill gyms and bleachers on a Friday night.
