The Indy Ignite reached the Major League Volleyball playoffs in each of their first two seasons. Riding that momentum, the Ignite are now set to have a dedicated headquarters and practice facility next to their home court at the Fishers Event Center as part of the Fishers Fieldhouse development. The announcement was made today by the City of Fishers.
The 29,000-square-foot facility is part of a large 180,000-square-foot complex slated to open in late 2027 or early 2028. It will be the first dedicated home base for any MLV franchise.
Becoming the Standard
The timing couldn't be more fitting. The Ignite have done nothing but win since arriving in Indiana. They reached the MLV championship in their inaugural season before setting a league record with 23 wins in 2026. Head Coach Lauren Bertolacci was named 2026 MLV Coach of the Year, and the roster is loaded heading into the team’s third campaign with 12 players set to return, including league MVP Mia Tuaniga and All-MLV First Team selections Lydia Martyn, Elena Scott, and Azhani Tealer.
The new headquarters will bring together office space for front office staff, state-of-the-art practice courts, a weight room, film area, locker rooms, lounges, and meeting rooms.
"Having a dedicated practice facility is the biggest upgrade we could ask for our program," said Bertolacci. "It's another demonstration of the City of Fishers' and the larger community's investment in the success of the Indy Ignite."
Betting on Women’s Sports
No, we’re not talking gambling. We’re talking about the growth of women’s sports nationwide. The City of Fishers’ announcement aligns with Indiana Sports Corp's 2050 Vision to make central Indiana the women's sports capital of the world.
In November 2026, Fishers Event Center will host the inaugural Big Ten women's volleyball tournament. The Ignite's third season begins in January 2027. The best is yet to come for volleyball in the Hoosier State.
"We're incredibly proud to be the home of Indy Ignite," said Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness. "Today's announcement illustrates the long-term vision that both the Ignite and the city share for the success of this franchise."
For Ignite President and GM Mary Kay Huse, the new facility is both a milestone and a signal to the rest of the league. "As the league continues to grow, I have no doubt more teams will follow suit quickly.”
The Ignite raised the bar on the court. Now they’re raising the bar with major facility upgrades.
