Meet the Founder
Nate is a lifelong Hoosier, content creator, and community builder who launched Get Indiana in May 2024 with a simple conviction: Indiana's news deserved a bigger stage.
What started as a YouTube channel and podcast quickly grew into a full media platform: a blog with 750+ articles, city-specific newsletters reaching 10 Indiana markets, and a social media following of 420k+ people who share a love for the Hoosier State.

Sid Shroyer is a retired Indiana high school English teacher and a former on-air host of All Things Considered for the South Bend NPR affiliate, WVPE. He is also a frequent radio essayist and the author of When Once Destroyed , a historical memoir detailing the destruction and flooding of the Indiana town of Somerset.
Ryan Miller is a student from southern Indiana. He is the Editor-in-Chief of his school's newspaper and yearbook, and has led them both to be award-winning publications. Miller will be attending the University of Missouri, where he will major in Journalism.
Brooks is a 2019 DePauw University graduate who double-majored in English Writing and Communications with a journalism emphasis. The Indianapolis native won the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation Journalism Award for Human Rights for his work on News21's "Hate in America" project out of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. He was also a four-year football player at DePauw, earning all-conference honors twice.
Originally from small-town Iowa and a Hawkeye at heart, Cheyne has proudly called Indiana home for nearly a decade. Following 12 years of media relations, communications, and broadcasting duties in minor league baseball, Cheyne joined Get Indiana as content manager to write weekly Get Indiana, Get INvolved, and Small Town Breakdown newsletters, blog posts covering everything from travel guides and small towns to Indiana sports, and scriptwriting for social content.
Jarred Porter is a content creator and SEO specialist for Get Indiana, helping Hoosiers discover the best places to eat, explore, and experience across the state.
