On the latest edition of the Sideline Sports Show, Brice and DC continue their conference preview series with an in-depth look at the Northeast 8 Conference, breaking down one of the area's deepest football conferences heading into the 2026 season.
Leo head coach Jason Doerffler joins the show to discuss the outlook for the Lions. Coming off a 7-3 season, Doerffler talks about what it will take to climb back to the top of the conference following the graduation of standout running back Nathan Foster. The conversation focuses on sophomore running back Aaron Perlich, returning receiver Landon Kindschy, and a defense that brings back plenty of experience.
DeKalb head coach Ryan Robertson previews his second season leading the Barons. Defensively, Eli Schwab and Drake Hall headline a unit expected to be among the conference's best after strong seasons in 2025.
Brett Fox joins Brice and DC to talk about the Columbia City Eagles and transition to junior quarterback Jordan Parrett, Gabe McDevitt's move from quarterback to slot receiver, and whether the Eagles will continue to lean on their physical running game. Columbia City also opens the season with a challenging non-conference slate against NorthWood and Northridge before conference play begins.

- East Noble enters the season after an 11-1 campaign and will look to replace quarterback Rylee Biddle. Running backs Austin Phillips and Lucas Niman return behind an experienced defense including standout Keon Quake.
- Huntington North hopes to turn several close losses into wins after five of their six defeats last season came by one score. Quarterback Lathan Janes and running back Christian Jemison return to lead the offense, while an improving defense will be key to the Vikings taking the next step.
- New Haven looks for a rebound after a difficult 2-8 season. Norwell also aims to bounce back from a 2-9 campaign after struggling defensively throughout 2025.
- A new era begins for Bellmont under first-year head coach Blake Baker. After four consecutive winless seasons, the Braves are hoping Baker can help turn the program around.
