On the latest edition of the Sideline Sports Show, Brice and DC look back on a heartbreaking end to an unforgettable season for Bluffton baseball.
Bluffton came within one out of capturing its first state championship before falling 6-3 in eight innings to Evansville Mater Dei in the Class 2A State Finals. The Tigers appeared poised to make history, but an infield single in the seventh inning tied the game and forced extras.
Once again, Griffin Morgan delivered a tremendous performance for Bluffton, pitching into the eighth inning before reaching his pitch limit. His outing capped one of the most dominant postseason runs in recent memory and helped lead the Tigers to their first-ever appearance in the state finals.
The show also highlights several major recruiting commitments from around northeast Indiana. Highly touted prospect Ifeanyi Emedobi announced his commitment to Michigan, while Camden Day committed to Kent State. Meanwhile, Omarion Waites of North Side Legends football pledged to Eastern Michigan.
Brice and DC also recap the OPS 7-on-7 Summit City Shootout, breaking down some of the standout performances and early storylines as high school football preparations ramp up across the state.
The guys then tackle a fun hypothetical: If you could have elite athletic ability in any sport for one week, which sport would you choose and why?
International soccer also enters the conversation as the United States men's national team earned a 2-0 victory over Australia in its second World Cup match. The Americans now turn their attention to a matchup with Turkey, which has yet to score a goal in the tournament.
Finally, Brice and DC preview a busy summer sports calendar that includes the University of Saint Francis Football Prospect Camp, High School Football Media Day, Indiana Preps Media Day, the Rod Woodson Camp, and the Jessie Bates III Camp.
