Indiana University will host a College Football Playoff National Championship celebration starting on Saturday, Jan. 24, inside Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. The event will celebrate the 16-0 Hoosiers' first football national championship in program history.

Event Schedule and Location Details

The celebration follows a specific timeline released by Indiana Athletics Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium (1001 E 17th St, Bloomington, IN 47408):

  • 10:30 a.m.: Parking lots around Memorial Stadium open

  • 11:30 a.m.: Memorial Stadium gates open to the public

  • 12 p.m.: "Walk to the Rock" ceremony

  • 1 p.m.: Official national title celebration inside Memorial Stadium

The Big Ten Network will broadcast the event live for fans unable to attend in person. No tickets are required, and the celebration is free and open to all fans. Memorial Stadium holds 52,626 spectators.

What to Expect at the Celebration

Indiana coach Curt Cignetti, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza, linebacker Aiden Fisher, and center Pat Coogan may address the crowd, according to Sports Illustrated's coverage of the event details.

The celebration caps Indiana's historic undefeated season, which included road victories at Oregon and a win over Purdue in the 100th Old Oaken Bucket game. This marks Indiana's second consecutive playoff appearance and national championship.

Additionally, the first 40,000 fans through the gates can pick up a CFP National Champions commemorative rally towel.

Transportation and Parking Information

Memorial Stadium's surrounding parking lots open at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. The early opening allows fans to arrive, park, and participate in pre-celebration activities including the noon "Walk to the Rock."

Championship Trophy Display Opportunities

Fans can see the actual CFP National Championship trophy at a free public viewing before Saturday's celebration:

  • Thursday, Jan. 22: 4-7 PM at Walmart (3313 IN-45, Bloomington)

Saturday's Memorial Stadium title festivities give Hoosier fans their first opportunity to celebrate the team that delivered Indiana University's first football national championship.
