Event Guide
Plan the weekend before the weekend disappears
Indiana weekends fill up fast. One minute you are looking for something to do, the next minute the good festival is over, the market closed at noon, and everyone else already knew about it.
Find the event first. Then check the details and build the rest of the day around it: food before, parking when you arrive, a backup if the weather turns, and something nearby if you want to keep going.
Check the date first
Start with the basics: date, time, location, ticket rules, and the official event link. If the event happens every year, make sure you are looking at the current year before you start making plans.
Then check the practical stuff: where to park, what happens if it rains, whether you need cash, and how early you should get there.
Build the day around one thing
Most events are better when you do not treat them like the whole day. Grab breakfast before the parade. Find dinner after the concert. Save a park, shop, or downtown walk nearby.
If you are bringing kids, check bathrooms, stroller space, shade, seating, and how long the main part actually lasts. If it is a date night, check what is close enough for a drink or dessert after.
