Civil War Days 2025 at Billie Creek Village
Ready to experience history in the most exciting way possible? Civil War Days at Billie Creek Village is coming up on May 3-4, 2025, and it’s the perfect chance to step into the past and see history come to life. Whether you're a history lover, a reenactment enthusiast, or just looking for a fun day out with the family, this event has everything you need to make your weekend unforgettable.
Main Battles, Historic Dances, and More
On both Saturday and Sunday, the main event is the battle at 2pm on the southern field—this is where the action really heats up. Reenactors will give you a front-row seat to history, and the intensity of the Civil War will come alive right before your eyes. But the fun doesn’t stop there! On Saturday night, join in the fun at the Civil War Era Ball at 7:30pm. Get your best moves ready and learn the historic dances of the time. It’s the perfect way to connect with the past, plus it’s a lot of fun! And stick around for the night firing at 9pm—when those cannons go off, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time.
Explore the Past with Hands-On Demonstrations
In addition to the battles and dancing, Civil War Days offers a ton of hands-on activities and demonstrations throughout the weekend. Here are just a few highlights:
Village Blacksmith: Check out the Blacksmith Shop and watch as artisans craft metal tools and items using old-school methods.
Field Hospital: Ever wonder what medical practices were like during the Civil War? Head over to the Livery Barn and get a close-up look at the medical equipment from that era.
Roots, Shoots, and Seeds: At the Schoolhouse, you can learn about heirloom plants and seeds that were key to surviving in the 19th century.
Rush Creek Broomery: See how brooms were made the old-fashioned way and learn about the tools they used.
Pottery at Burr Mill: Watch artists demonstrate the age-old art of pottery-making using a kick wheel.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! There’s also the Confederate Headquarters and Union Headquarters where you can see how these historic locations were overtaken for the war effort.
Good Food and Good Causes
What’s a festival without some great food? While you’re enjoying the reenactments and demonstrations, you’ll find food vendors ready to keep you fueled for the day. Plus, the best part: all proceeds from the event go toward the restoration of the village, so you’ll be supporting an amazing cause while having a blast.
