Yoho General Store

Tucked into the hills of Southern Indiana, you'll find the Yoho General Store—a charming slice of Americana that’s equal parts history, hospitality, and homemade pie. Located in the tiny town of Solsberry (blink and you might miss it, but trust us—you don’t want to), this gem is more than just a pit stop; it’s a full-blown nostalgia trip with a side of biscuits and gravy.

A Historic General Store That’s Still Serving Solsberry

This place has deep roots. The Yoho General Store first opened its doors in the 1930s, back when folks came in for penny candy, farming supplies, and the latest town gossip. It’s been a cornerstone of the community ever since, surviving decades of change while holding tight to its small-town charm. After a thoughtful renovation by the Cook family in 2012, the store kept its vintage soul while adding just enough modern magic to keep both the locals and weekend wanderers coming back. This piece of living Indiana history has been serving its community for nearly 100 years.

Our Story – Yoho General Store

What to Eat at Yoho: Tenderloins, Biscuits & Homemade Pie

Step inside and boom—you're hit with that cozy, old-timey vibe that makes you want to call your grandma just to say hi. The creaky wooden floors, the checkerboard tables, and the scent of sizzling bacon whisper, "Welcome home, stranger." Whether you're a road-tripping foodie, a Sunday driver, or just wildly committed to finding Indiana’s best tenderloin sandwich, Yoho's got you covered.

Start your visit with breakfast—the classic home-cooked style of your dreams. We’re talking eggs, crispy bacon, hearty biscuits and gravy, sausage, and golden hashbrowns. Lunch? Oh, it’s a Hoosier love affair. The breaded pork tenderloin is basically famous—golden, crispy, and bigger than your face (seriously, bring two hands). The meal isn’t complete without dessert. Get the pie. Any pie. They are all incredible.

Small-Town Hospitality with Big Heart

But Yoho isn’t just about the food. It’s about community. It’s where locals gather for their morning coffee and where travelers end up swapping stories with a stranger who somehow knows your cousin. You’ll find locally made goodies, quirky souvenirs, and even a visit from Santa during the Christmas season.

Take a few extra minutes to check out the historic Solsberry Covered Bridge just down the road, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself planning a return trip before you even leave the parking lot.
