A Hidden Gem Coming to the Factory Arts District

With the Statue of Liberty being dedicated 140 years ago on Oct. 28, 1886, today is the perfect day to highlight the Teeny Statue of Liberty Museum in Indianapolis, one of Indiana’s most unusual attractions. Coming soon to Factory Arts South near Massachusetts Avenue, this museum proves you do not need a large building to tell a fascinating story. Visitors can expect much of the same from the museum’s previous location—Lady Liberty replicas and memorabilia packed into a small space.

The museum celebrates miniature versions of one of America's most recognizable landmarks. While the museum may be small in size, the collection is packed with character and offers a unique experience that you will not find anywhere else in Indiana.

A Passion Project Turned Museum

The Teeny Statue of Liberty Museum began as the personal collection of community advocate and eccentric collector Tim Harmon. Over the years, he gathered hundreds of Statue of Liberty replicas from around the world. What started as a hobby eventually grew into a museum on 10th Street in Indianapolis dedicated to sharing the collection with the public.

Each piece has its own story. Some are made from metal, while others are crafted from glass, wood, plastic, or ceramic. The variety of styles and sizes makes every display case worth a closer look.

Although the museum centers on Lady Liberty, visitors will also discover interesting facts about the famous monument itself.

Sadly, Harmon died from congestive heart failure on June 30, 2025. He was 72. But his collection dedicated to Lady Liberty will live on at Factory Arts South.

Exploring the Factory Arts District

One of the best things about the museum's new location is its setting within the Factory Arts District. The neighborhood is known for its creative energy, colorful murals, artist studios, and local businesses. A visit to the teeny museum pairs perfectly with an afternoon spent exploring the surrounding area.

The Teeny Statue of Liberty Museum may be one of the smallest museums in Indiana, but it leaves an impression. If you enjoy unusual attractions and hidden gems, this tiny museum deserves a spot on your Indianapolis bucket list once it reopens.
