The Mayberry Cafe in Danville, Indiana is a nostalgic restaurant that pays homage to the classic 1960s television show The Andy Griffith Show. Since its opening in 1992, the cafe has been a popular destination for those who love the show or simply enjoy classic American comfort food in a charming setting.

A Dining Experience

From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel like you've stepped into the fictional town of Mayberry. The cafe features a replica of Sheriff Andy Taylor's squad car parked outside, making it a great photo opportunity. Inside, multiple televisions continuously play episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, and the walls are adorned with memorabilia, including autographed photos and articles related to the show. The café is well-suited for families. Kids can join Opie’s Kids Club, where they receive a special token for cleaning their plate, which can be exchanged for a toy or ice cream sundae.

Celebrity Sightings

The owners have committed themselves to serving quality food and creating a sense of community. This has made The Mayberry Café a popular tourist destination. It’s not just fans of the show stopping by for a visit. Several of the original cast members have visited the Mayberry Café including Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle), Jean Carson (Daphne), Rodney Dillard Bank (the Darling boys), and Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling). Although Barney and Andy never visited the café, their daughters Karen Knotts and Dixie Griffith have been known to visit every spring.

Just Like Aunt Bee Used to Make
