Junque in the Trunk: New Castle's Vintage Vendor Mall

Junque in the Trunk opened in New Castle on March 1, 2025, and filled up fast. It runs 16,000 square feet with more than 70 vendors, the kind of place you walk into for ten minutes and leave an hour later carrying something you did not know you needed.

Seventy Vendors, No Two Alike

The draw at Junque in the Trunk is the range. Every vendor stocks its own booth, so one aisle is antique furniture and retro decor and the next is secondhand fashion, collectibles, and handmade goods. It is well laid out and well lit, with room to wander. As one shopper put it, "The help is very cordial ... there really is something for everyone & affordable including furniture!"

The Midnight Market

The best time to go might be the one nobody expects. On the third Saturday of each month, from 7 p.m. to midnight, the shop reopens for the Midnight Market, an after-hours thrift run that pulls shoppers in from out of state. It is usually themed, and kids and pets are welcome. Follow Junque in the Trunk on Facebook for the next date and any outdoor pop-up markets.

Before You Go

It is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. With 70-plus independent booths, prices and payment vary from one to the next, so bring some cash and be ready to dig. That treasure-hunt unpredictability is the whole point.

While You're in New Castle

Treasure hunting works up an appetite. After you browse, head to Temptations Restaurant for hearty Hoosier comfort food, from meatloaf to fried pork chops.
