Brown County is full of hidden gems, but a new competitor is rising to the top of must-visit destinations. The Hard Truth campus in Nashville, Indiana, is a whiskey lover's dream. It’s the perfect spot to eat, drink, and play your worries away.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

In 2015, Hard Truth was distilling in the upstairs of a pizza shop. They grew rapidly and, about a mile away, broke ground on their new home. At the end of 2017, they opened their Hard Truth Campus on 325 acres of beautiful wooded property. They started with Hard Truth Tours & Tastings Center and, by the fall of 2018, had opened a restaurant and made the move to the brand new sweet mash distillery, where they have been producing Hard Truth spirits ever since.

MORE THAN WHISKEY

Hard Truth’s Sweet Mash Bourbon has a caramel, pecan, clove, fruit, and oak aroma. You’ll taste toffee, caramel, cherry, and sweet cream. It finishes strong with warming coffee, vanilla, and oak that linger on the palate. That sounds incredible, but I know whiskey isn’t for everyone. While they are famous for their whiskey, Hard Truth has a variety of other spirits to try. Rum, vodka, cream liqueurs, and gin have joined the lineup.  Mix their Maple Bourbon Cream and Original Vodka for the perfect Espresso Martini.

THE TOTAL PACKAGE

Hard Truth Distilling Co. has truly gone the extra mile to make visiting their campus a unique experience. At the Hard Truth Tours & Tastings Center, you can take a distillery tour, mixology classes, book a single barrel selection experience, and have a guided tasting of Hard Truth spirits. Feeling adventurous? They also have guided ATV tours that let you explore the property while learning about the history of distilling. You can enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday night starting in May at Hard Truth on the Rocks terrace and stage area while sipping on your locally crafted beverage.

SLEEP IT OFF

If you’re looking for the total Hard Truth experience, you have to book a weekend in their secluded cabin in the woods. The cabin features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a cozy fireplace, and a screened-in porch. It's the perfect place to soak in the beauty of the property.  The cabin is within walking distance of all the campus activities. Included in your reservation is a gift code that can be redeemed for a free distillery tour for each guest.

TIME TO LEARN THE TRUTH

The Hard Truth Campus checks every box for the perfect weekend. This incredible gem tucked away in the woods is one you’ll come back to visit again and again. Book a tour, take a class, and try something new. Be sure to take a bottle home and share The Truth with all your friends.
