Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever you are, however you may be listening. Thanks for tuning in to the Get Indiana Podcast Network. My name is Dominic Miranda and I've been covering sports for nearly a decade, most of which right here in Indianapolis. This is the Get IN. Sports Podcast. We're going to be covering everything in the Hoosier State, high school, college, pro, in the sports capital of the universe, in the greatest state on planet Earth. Thanks so much for coming on this journey with us. Let's get into it. Welcome inside the Get Indiana Podcast Studio. Get Indiana, Get IN. Sports crossover episode. I mean, that's basically what we do every week. Every Tuesday, baby. Nate Spangle is here. I'm Dom Miranda. This is going to be a jam-packed episode when it comes to Indiana high school football because sectionals are here. If you can believe it, the regular season is done. We're going to go through all sorts of unbeaten teams. We're going to go through all 24 in the state of Indiana. Which class has the most unbeaten teams? Spoiler, it's 2A and it's going to be a lot of fun. Also in this episode, we're going to cover every single sectional in the state of Indiana. Go through all six classes. Kind of give you who we think is going to win the state championships. In fact, we filled out full brackets. Yes. On our way back from Sarasota over the weekend. It was spectacular. Great brackets at ihsaapickem.live. Yeah, honestly, I think everybody should do this because it was a great, great website. Saves your brackets for you. You can follow along. Gives you really good intel. Teams records. Makes you understand just how competitive each sectional is in the state of Indiana.
So we're really excited about that. Like I mentioned, we're going to do a deep dive into every single remaining unbeaten team in the state of Indiana. This is going to be a jam-packed episode. Also, we're going to have Kyle Neddenriep. Neddenriep. I got to ask him how to say his name. You can leave this in. I got to ask him how to say his name. I think it's Neddenriep. I think, ripe? You're going ripe? I'm going rip. I don't know. Neddenriep. I think it's ripe. Anyway, of the IndyStar who's electric with his high school football coverage. He is probably the foremost expert in central Indiana on current high school football. He does phenomenal work for football and basketball. I'm very, very excited he has time for us. That's going to be on Friday, so please, please stick around and give that a listen as well. But Spangle, we're fresh off a Florida trip this weekend. Shout out Cole Taylor, Alicia Jacobs, matrimony. And Dom was worried that he was going to get the Ballard news while we were midair. Yes. While we were listing as many high schools as we could. I was not familiar with how many people would see that. That was crazy. 10,000 likes. Almost 400,000 views. Tyler Eifert commented. Tyler Eifert. Shout out to the Notre Dame legend. We got 336. Out of 413 IHSAA member schools. Yeah. So, I mean, I'm going to say that is pretty impressive. Dude, that's teetering on 90%. We forgot that I know. One, I want to give my sincerest apologies to Randolph County. We really dropped Winchester. I think Monroe Central's out there. I could have swore you put Winchester down.
I think I talked about it, but I did not go. I did not say it. I woke up in a cold sweat because I thought we forgot Valparaiso. No, we had put Valpo on there. Okay. I woke up like there's no way we forgot Valpo. We forgot Union, MODOK. We forgot Union County, too. We forgot a few out there. And the one that I was the most bent up about was Eastbrook. Oh. That was the insane play. Was it Eastbrook and Alexandria, actually? I'm pretty sure. Last year in sectionals, the highlight they got on Pat McAfee. Mm. Yeah. Do you remember this? I don't remember this. It was like the craziest end to a game ever. It was electric. But, yeah, if you want to go see, check it out. Dom and I, on a two-hour flight, wrote down as many Indiana high schools as we could think of. And no cheating. I liked our strategy. First, we just did 6A. Spangle had originally suggested by region. And I was like, no. But then once we got through 6A, I was like, okay, wait. No, yes. We need to start. Geographically. The geographical actually helped a lot. Yeah. Come on. I enjoyed it. And 336. I do have to say before, and you have to be abbreviated on this, but I do need the Colts no longer have a general manager. Yeah. I got the news early Monday morning, and it was a matter of time. I mean, once we saw, I mean, I knew this was the perfect weekend for me to have a wedding was Colts Titans, right? And I was like, okay, they'll win. We'll figure it out. They're still not a very good team. We'll figure it out when we get back. But losing to the Titans in the fashion in which they did, you knew someone was going to get fired.
Our flight was at, well, it got delayed. I think we're at 7. But we flew Allegiant because we're cheap. And we're on a startup budget. We're on a startup budget. I thought for sure he'd get fired when we were in the air, but waited until Monday morning, and then that just flipped my whole day upside down. Oh, yeah, dude. If you probably, if you are a fan of WTHR, you probably saw Dom on the news yesterday. A lot. I was on the news a lot. A lot of his face. I'll say this last I'll say about it. It was far past time for this to happen. The Colts can finally start healing. They need to get as many picks as they possibly can. I don't know if getting back in the first rounds realistic, but they need to try. You know what? I feel like they're going to go to first for sauce. And now someone, I don't know what they were to ship him somewhere. They'd be happy to get a second. I think if they got a bunch of second round picks for your choice of sauce, Gardner, Quentin Nelson to Forrest Buckner, almost certainly will be traded. There is a D-tackle needy team just up the road named the Chicago Bears who should do anything they can. And just up the road in Detroit, there's a team that needs secondary help. Yep. And the Broncos, I know, are very interested in Jonathan Taylor. Oh, gosh. This team's going to be sold for parts. It's going to. And it should be. And Shane Steichen was pretty defeated when we heard from him yesterday as well. All I want to say is Spencer Schrader's still electric. Spencer Schrader's best in the league. Yeah, come on. All right, Dom. I want to know, though, this is our Indiana high school football extravaganza. And it's sectional week, baby. I can't wait. I remember walking into school the week of sectionals.
Like, you just have a little extra pep in your step. You got some juice. Everyone. Everyone's record is 0-0. Everyone has a chance. You know, this reminds me of 2005 Northwood Panthers who went into the sectional play 3-6 and 1-state. Yeah, anyone can do it. Black. The original Black. Well, not the original. It wasn't the original Black Crunch. But we say that every freaking show. I love it. That's what I love. Some people don't like that. I love that everyone's got a chance. Hoosiers could be rewritten. There could be a team with an under 500 record. I wonder, is Northwood that three win? Is that the lowest to ever win state? That's a great question. And I bet maybe. I bet it has to be in contention. Well, 6A, there's only, I believe there's only one 6A and one 5A matchup this week. Well, I want to talk before that, Dom, were there any scores from last week that stuck out to you? And then we're going to get into breaking it down sectional by sectional and talk about each and every one of the 24 unbeaten teams. Scores that stuck out to me this week. The regular season finale of Indiana high school football. Center Grove played host to 5A second ranked Bloomington South. Spangle, I believe Bloomington South was up 14-0 in this game. Either 14-0 or 14-7. They were winning. I believe it got to a point where, did Center Grove score 28 unanswered? I believe so. They went on a run in the second half. Okay, so it was 14-0 Bloomington South and Center Grove scores 28 unanswered. A punt return helped in that regard, I believe.
But their quarterback, Oster Sloan, did not play again. But Center Grove rallies at the end, 28-14. That's a really nice showing for Bloomington South, though. I have to say, 5A, wide open. Great showing for Bloomington South. But Center Grove gets it done 28-14. I mean, when you have a heavyweight on the ropes, though, you know, you got to finish the game. You know, my 12-U baseball coach used to say, you got to step on their throats and crush their windpipes. Oh, gosh. That's what your 12-U coach said? That's why we were really good, probably. I mean, it has to do with that. Also, elsewhere in Class 6A, the NIC has decided. South Bend St. Joe still winless over Penn since 1976. The Kingsmen get it done 38-7 over the Huskies to win the NIC to go 9-0. Coach Pete gets it done 9-0. He's 28-4. This is his third year at Penn. So that's really exciting. Good stuff. Penn Kingsmen unbeaten. Will they be the Northern representative in the 6A state championship? We shall see. Dom, we did skip over. You can't beat the widest margin. The biggest blowout, shout out to Wes-Del. They get it done over Cambridge City-Lincoln 71-0. And they are leading in to the postseason with a lot of momentum. And you're going to be hearing about Wes-Del a little bit later on in the show. Two games went past regulation into overtime. I mean, a huge upset. I mean, this course I got to meet. Mount Vernon Fortville gets it done over Yorktown 48-41.
That is a huge result because Mount Vernon Fortville is certainly rebuilding. I think they've exceeded expectations under first-year head coach Mike Kirshner, who is back at Mount Vernon after a long, illustrious career with state titles and the like for Mr. Kirshner. So really, really good stuff. Yorktown obviously battling a lot of noise and a lot of emotions after what transpired. Just a lot of adversity. There's no question. But that's a big result for Mount Vernon. No question about it. Elsewhere, I do want to mention this. How about the way Roncalli has ended their season, Mr. Spangle, because the Royals get it done over East Central. Dom Cromer has solidified himself as the quarterback for this Royals team moving forward. 28-10 on the road. Roncalli gets it done over East Central. Yeah. That class 4A, folks, I want to say this. I'm going to say this. I want this clipped. Class 4A in Indiana high school football as a whole, I think, is better than class 5A. And I don't think it's close. I think it's deeper. I think it's more talented. We got Fort Wayne, Dwenger, Roncalli, Chatard, East Central, East Noble, Northridge, Danville, Reitz, South Bend, St. Joe, Logansport. Dude, there's a lot. There's not very many losses on that list. East Noble, Northridge, Danville, Logansport, all undefeated. We know about Dwenger, how good they are. Only lost to Carroll. Roncalli's only two losses are to Dwenger and Chatard. Okay, Chatard's only losses, excuse me, are to Cathedral in this past week at Elder.
Only by 10 on the road. It's a great class. Crazy stadium. If you've seen the stadium that they play at down in Cincinnati, that's a tough place to win a football game. Brooks Hepp, our guy, was showing us that stadium. Also, Battle of the NLC decided as well. Warsaw falls to Northridge. Who called that, Spang? You did. Thank you. 3730, Northridge gets it done in Luke Amstutz's first year. 9-0 up there in Middlebury. Wow, that's a big win for Northridge. That's a massive win. Huge win, Northridge. We were like going through all the games. Oh, man. What were we watching? We were watching Memorial. And Castle. Castle had Memorial on the ropes. They had them on the ropes. And then Memorial put the hammer down. Remember, halftime adjustments, we said. John Hurley's halftime adjustments. He is the halftime wizard. That is what we were dubbing him. John Hurley the halftime wizard. Castle was up like 1410. I don't. I think it was close. It was like. It was back and forth. And then Memorial just put it on. They ended up winning 37-14. Yeah. Dude, there's a guy down in Evansville that predicts the scores to all the games. And he is so electric. He's been so spot on with what he predicts the scores are going to be. Yeah, he has. And that was one where it was like right on the money. It was wild. Really good stuff. Yeah, dude. I just want to go through here. Oh, this one that stuck out. Snider. I don't. Sorry if you already said this. Snider beating Fort Wayne North 27-26 in overtime. And Fort Wayne North is unranked, right? Like they're like not in the mix in the rankings. But you know, those Fort Wayne schools. They're all really, really good.
That's a good result. You got some momentum. You want to be on the right side of those. But leading into the postseason, you got to feel a little good about that. Shout out Butler Women's Basketball head coach Maria Marcasano from Fort Wayne. She was really took a lot of pride in being from Fort Wayne. She's awesome. Butler Women's Basketball on the up and up. Yeah. That pod will come out sometime. It's really, really good. I love that. Another big upset. The North Decatur Chargers get it done over Franklin County 15-6. That is a 1A school with some momentum in North Decatur. How about this? This is one. Remember we said Griffith just flying under the radar. I believe their head coach had a quote. Griffith football is back. Oh. I'm almost positive. I saw that on Xphere there. Griffith beats Wheeler 30-7. Oh, that puts it into Wheeler's undefeated run. But if I know anything. Bearcats had a good showing through the regular season. Now you get it right for the postseason. And that puts Griffith undefeated regular season. 100%. They're one of the teams we'll talk about. Oh, boy. Nansen Wheeler. You said. Oh, boy. And let's see if there's anything else I got just right quick. Oh. Remember, how about this? This little out of conference small school battle. Eastern Hancock gets it done over Milan 41-27. Wow. So that was a great. Eastern Hancock. Eastern Hancock's offense is very, very fun to watch. Big time. They complete the undefeated regular season. But Milan, those are the type of games that are going to be very helpful for you down the stretch of the season. I agree. Like, strap on the pads.
Play good football. Get yourself ready to go and compete for a 1A state title. The Milan Indians, they know a thing or two about being the underdog. 100%. And then how about this? To end us out, this is one we were super excited about. Pioneer gets it done over North Judson. Maybe not the margin we were expecting, but 35-7. Pioneer gets it done. I think they're going to see each other again in the future in that game. I think it'll be a lot closer. I think that Pioneer has an electric. We're going to talk about him later. An electric freshman QB. It's already, like, top 10 in the school's history for completions as a freshman. They're just slinging the rock up there in Royal Center. Okay. That's new. That's news to me. Yeah, buddy. How about this? And then a couple of other items here. Portage beats LaPorte 20-19. Tipton beats Western 29-28. South Bend Riley beats Mishawaka Marian 18-17. So a couple three one-point battles there. Fremont beats Fairfield 46-21. After Fremont had lost 13 straight. Okay. After over, after a baker's dozen of. Baker's dozen. A baker's dozen not getting the job done. Fremont gets it going. And then they pour it on 46-21. Another streak. Hammond Noll. They got, they score 31 over Boone Grove. They got 27. Hammond Noll had lost a dozen straight to Boone Grove. So that's a big result for Hammond Noll up there in the region.
Okay. Up there in Northwest Indiana. It's time to do a deep dive into each of the sectionals all across the state. Dom, what's the total number? There's 48 sectionals in the state of Indiana. 48 sectionals. We're going to start at the 1A, work our way up to the 6A. Now, we did a ton of research, but there are a lot of football teams. And there's a few of these where, you know, we're going to have deep dives into all 24 undefeated teams. There's a few where I still got to see some tape. So apologies in advance if your team's on here and we're not doing a deep dive into them. The undefeated teams are kind of our priority. That was a promise we made to listeners, oh, several weeks ago. Yeah. To go deep into all 24 unbeaten teams, Dom. But let's start in sectional 41. This is North Newton and I believe Bowman Academy is up there. That's game one. Yep. West Central and Culver Community. One, West Central, 8-1. They are, they're good, dude. West Central is 8-1. Their only loss was the first game of the year against Winamac. Lost 34-20. They've rattled off eight straight wins since Mr. Spangle. Mark Hall, the head coach of the Trojans, coming off a 10-2 campaign a year ago, but didn't get it out of sectional. Now, they have as good a chance as anybody. But it's going to be a tough sectional up there, Spang, because who do they got in there? Then you go down Winamac. Obviously, we just heard about Winamac. They're playing South Central. That's yet to find a win this year. I'm going to say Winamac. You know, again, everyone's got a chance, but I'm going to take Winamac. I have them in my bracket.
This one pains me, man. It pains me. Oh. The Trojans drew North Judson. Yikes. Let me just tell you about this. One, I think North Judson is a really, really good football team. Yeah. And I think they're going to find themselves making a little run here. Sure. I'm not going to give anything away, but I think the Blue Jays are pretty good. For my boys up there in Bourbon at Triton, they're young, dude. Keep your boys together. Stick it out. By the time you get to be a junior or senior, you get some experience. You've played in these games. You're going to be making a run here. And I think that we're going to end up seeing, I mean, for this sectional, in my prediction, we're going to see a West Central North Judson game in the championship. That's what I'm thinking as well. I think North Judson's going to get it over Winamac there in the semifinal. They're going to punch their ticket to the final. West Central North Judson. That's a top 10 battle in class 1A. But I do think North Judson gets out of sectional spank and moves on in the state tournament. And I will say, I hope the boys at Triton prove me wrong. And I will personally guarantee to be the largest athletic booster for next season. There you go. They prove me wrong. They win this game. I am the largest athletic booster for Triton next year. Don't know what that is, but I'm there. Two years ago, North Judson made state and lost. Didn't even get out of sectional last year. So they're hungry. And they're coming off a loss to Pioneer in the regular season finale. So they lost to LaVille. And then LaVille went on to lose to Pioneer 14-34. So there it is. That's that first sectional, number 41.
If we get into, or is that 41? And then now we go into 42? Yes, sir. So 42, we have the Frontier Falcons taking on LCC. Both teams with three and six records. You got Faith Christian. You've got North White. That's a two and seven Faith Christian versus a four and five North White. Clinton Prairie is five and four. Taking on Carroll up in Flora. They're seven and two. I will say for this one, not a lot of positive records in this little pool here, Dominic. No. Carroll and Flora. Okay. Under Blake Betzner. They won sectional three years in a row. 21, 22, and 23. Haven't won sectional since. They are the cream of the crop in sectional 42. I do think Carroll, the Cougars get it done there in sectional 42. And I think they have a date with North Judson there in the regional. Oh, I will say one very interesting Frontier. LCC. You're going to square off. Is in fact coached by Jack Barron, who is 21 and eight in three years at the school coming off a 10 and one campaign, three and six this year. But why can't they win a game or two? They got to get a game. They got to get some games here because the winner of that team has a defeated Tri-County 0-8. So you win this game. You're going to find yourself more than likely again in the sectional finals, either LCC or Frontier there. Faith Christian, North White, probably going to have a date with Carroll out of Flora there. I would say, again, in my bracket, I have Carroll all the way there, but we'll see what happens.
And I think this would set up. I do think Carroll's going to win this sectional and that would set up for a really cool regional battle between what would be number four, North Judson, and number nine, Carroll. So how about that? Yeah. Has West Central already played North Judson? No, they haven't. Hey, the Trojans might say, hold on, hold on one minute. Yeah, the Trojans might be like, hey guys, what are you guys talking about? We're as good as anybody here. Yeah. We keep rolling down, Dominic. We're going to get into sectional 43. And this is where we talk about Pioneer is looking as good as anybody. So we're going to go, I'll start here and say, one, you have Taylor versus Pioneer. You have North Miami that's three and six versus Sheridan. That's a sneaky five and four. Tri-Central's 0 and nine. Clinton Central's four and five. Madison Grant, the Argyles, they're seven and two. How about that? That's a really good matchup. Madison Grant versus Caston, game one. That's 11 versus 12 in 1A. I've kind of been, that's 11 versus 12. It's 11 versus 12. This is the issue with the unseated sectionals. Yeah. 11 versus 12 in game one. And you got an 0 and nine versus a four and five. And you got a three and six versus a five and four. Okay. So this is interesting because two weeks ago I was at Colts practice on Wednesday and Matt Conte, Colts PR guy came up and he gathered me, Greg Rakestraw and Kevin Bowen. And he said he wants to form an Indiana high school commission with Dominic Miranda, Kevin Bowen, Greg Rakestraw, Kyle Neddenriep, and Matt Conte.
And he wants to knock out 6A. Okay. He wants five classes. He wants seeds. He wants the state tournament to be seated. That would be our job as the committee. And he wants, you have to qualify for the playoffs. Oh, I'm out on that. Yeah. I know. Right. I'm out on that. I'm in on seating. So he had, he had all sorts of plans. As someone that won six high school football games in four years, I'm out on knocking everybody out of the playoffs, but I am in on seating. Yeah. He had, he had all sorts of plans to change high school football. So he thought it was interesting. But anyway, because, because like, for instance, Cascade and South Putnam will get to play game one. And Cathedral and New Pal are in the same sectional. Yeah. So it's just, you know, but hey, you got to beat the best to beat the best. Yeah. You want to be the best. You got to beat the best. Okay. Well, we're talking about one of the best here. We're talking about our friends up at Pioneer in Royal Center. This is Jack Kaiser's alma mater. If anyone knows, he actually just signed with the Bengals. I believe Jack Kaiser is the man talking about a guy who works his, you know, what off. I'll tell you this though. Pioneer and a possible either Madison Grant or Caston sectional final here. Pioneer and Caston have played. Caston lost 35 to seven. But again, and throw records out when it comes to sectionals. So I think it could be a really fun sectional final between Pioneer, Madison Grant or Caston. Yeah. And with Pioneer, dude, they've got that senior running back. I think his name is Shiloh Ryan. That's a great name. Oh, one. I think apologies if it's not Ryan, but he's got 50 carries for 768 yards, 12 touchdowns.
He's also got another 547 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. So he's got well over a thousand all-purpose yards on the defense. He's playing safety, 41 tackles, four and a half of those for tackles for loss and an INT. Okay. So yeah, that would be our first unbeaten team that we've come across here. That would be Pioneer. Okay. You talked about Shiloh Ryan. How about Philip McFatridge, Philip McFatridge, Jr. Oh, he is a junior. I was going to say, that's crazy. Philip McFatridge. That's a crazy name. 52 carats, 556 yards, nine tutties. He's also got almost 200 receiving yards on the season. And how about this? 34 tackles as a DB, two interceptions. One. Okay. We got 34 tackles from DB. We have 41 tackles from strong safety. I don't know if we're, but I don't know if I want. But our safety is having that many tackles. That's a lot of tackles. They're coming up and making a play. I love that. But small school football, man. They're just football players. They're in the mix. I would love to know what Jack, what his, how many tackles he had fresh, like his throughout his career. Jack Kaiser? He was a safety, but he was the middle linebacker. He was the running. I mean, he was everything. He was awesome. I'm actually looking it up. There's one more player I want to talk about. And that is, I believe this quarterback. I think his name is Colton Popejoy. And he's a freshman. He's thrown 17 TD passes this year. For who? For Pioneer. Really? He's tossed the rock for 17. But I believe, let me, let me pull it all up. Colton's full stats. Hold the phone, Dominic. Hold it. All right. On his career, he's passed for over 1,000, over 1,100 yards.
And oh, man. Yeah, he's slinging it, dude. He's got 57 completions for 1,100 yards. And he's a freshman, dude. Okay. 17 touchdowns, four interceptions. Okay, wait. How about this? I want to move into sectional 44. Okay. Because I think we can agree we think Pioneer is going to come out of sectional 43 right there. Yeah. Sectional 44. I want to talk about a team who maybe isn't getting as much love. But for a 1A team, they're scheduling up. They have a tough schedule. And I wondered to myself, why is a 7 and 2 team in class 1A especially getting top 5 love? I'm talking about the South Adams Starfires. Yeah. Under Grant Mosier. Okay. He's 97 and 44 in 12 years. They've gone to back-to-back semi-states. Only two losses this season to 2A ranked Eastside and to 3A ranked Bluffton, who we've talked about. So they've played up. And they beat Adams Central for the first time in quite some time. Okay. South Adams in sectional 44, folks. I think they can make a run. I would. I would agree. Because they get to the regional then and they would play Pioneer. And I mean, let's knock down, drag out, slobber knocker. That's going to be a good game. Because we got. If that happens. These four teams. If you look at the regional here on this side of the bracket. North Judson, Carroll, Pioneer, South Adams. Well, okay. So we're getting into that sectional. You think they're going to take down Churubusco. Yeah. And then who do you think they're going to play next week?
Who did you have in your. Fort Wayne Blackhawk. Oh, dude. No love for Bud Wright. Dude, I got Bud Wright going, man. They're going to win that game. But yeah, I just think keep an eye out for South Adams because they had a tough regular season. I think that's going to really pay dividends for them coming up here. Don, the other team you're forgetting about. Who am I forgetting? Fremont. Fremont says, hold on, buddy. Not so fast. They're going to have Southern Wells, who's had one win on the season. Northfield's going to have Whitko. Whitko is winless. So we're probably going to see a Northfield-Fremont battle. And Fremont's put together a good team this year. Fremont, six and three. I do think this is South Adams sectional to lose. Oh, okay. So you think that we're going to see on that first side here, we're going to see North Judson, Carroll, Pioneer, South Adams. I think that's an awesome group of four teams. I think that's a great group of four. Look, I think the Pioneer-South Adams matchup is really where things get interesting. I do think North Judson's going to punch their ticket to semi-state over Carroll. But I got to tell you, Pioneer-South Adams, grab your popcorn. That's not going to be your average 1A football game. I'm here for that. That's some talent on the field, Spang. I'm really excited about it. So there's sectional 44. What do you say we keep moving sectional 45 here? All right, we're going to have Knightstown versus Union City. Knightstown 7-2. Union City, they're inverse at 2-7. Isn't Knightstown our boy Rob out there? Yeah, Robert's a Knightstown Panther, baby. Their only losses are to Hagerstown and Eastern Hancock. What was that Hagerstown score?
34-14. So it was by a lot, but they've been tested a little bit. They know what it takes. Eastern Hancock was 48-12. So it's kind of like they beat up on the teams they should beat. Big boys come to town. It gets a little dicey for Trent Taylor's group. But I'll tell you what, Spang. This is the first sectional I've seen a bye. Oh, yeah. For Wes-Del. And how about the 8-0 team? No, I think there was another one up there. It was at Tri-County. Oh, you're right. Remember? Yeah, we saw a bye. Tri-County was. But Tri, so funny. Tri-County was 0-8. Wes-Del is 8-0. So like seeding sometimes, we don't need it. Sometimes things just. Oh, it does say 8-0. I think did these pull. 5-6-7-8. No, it looks like they just played eight games. So they must have had a bye somewhere. Oh, Wes-Del with the bye. Yeah, they're 8-0. Oh, look. Yeah, between September 18th and October 2nd, looks like they didn't have a game. Oh, good for them. They're rested. This also brings us to an interesting part of the bracket. What's that? Someone is getting their first win of the season. No. We've got Tinley 0-7 versus Cambridge City Lincoln 0-9. I'm going to have to see some footage on that one. Someone's going to have a win. Hey, someone's going to have a defeated season and someone will get their one win. And hey, who knows? That could be something where we're seeing, you know, Tinley or we're seeing the Cambridge City Lincoln. We've seen one of them make a little run here. Well, how about this, though? In that sectional semifinal and sectional 45, Wes-Del and Knightstown potential semifinal matchup.
That would be a 7-10 in Class 1A. Against Bank, anything can happen. I know Wes-Del's unbeaten, but Knightstown, ball could bounce their way. There you have it. But I will say this. I have Wes-Del coming out of that one. I have them remaining unbeaten. I was going to say, I do have Wes-Del. Staying in sectional, as a champion of sectional 45. But if we move down to who they could potentially see in regional, we go to sectional 46. We have another bye. Two byes. What's up with this? Double byes. Make them play. We've got Milan. Yeah, what the heck? Taking on Trinity Lutheran. This is interesting. Trinity Lutheran's only played five games this season. I'm seeing that as well, Spang. What's up with that? That's not enough football. Chase Miles, first year at the helm of the Trinity Lutheran Brewers. We got to bump those schedules up. What's up with that? We got to pump those numbers up. We've got Milan 7-2 taking on Trinity Lutheran. We've got North Decatur. The Chargers taking on South Decatur. The battle for Decatur County. Yes, Spang. So we would have a 7-2. We would have, potentially, a North Decatur-Milan sectional championship. North Decatur doesn't look like they are ranked. However, Milan has had a nice schedule. Remember, their only loss? I will say. Yeah, go ahead. But North Decatur has played Milan this year, and it did not go well. It didn't go well for the Chargers. 56-7 for the Chargers. But if North Decatur does beat South Decatur, that would be Steve Stern's 100th win at the school. Hey, I will say the last time. So North Decatur and South Decatur kicked off the season back on August 21st.
It was at South Decatur, and North Decatur won 39-2. First off, if you're scoring 39 points, you can't give up a safety. I don't know how we ended up there, but we can't do that. But North Decatur, since they lost to Eastern Hancock by 62, they lost to Milan 56-7. But then they got right against Brown County 80-0 and have been on a terror ever since then. They have been outscoring a bump. They've only let 18 points in the end zone since then. All right, well, it feels like we like Milan to come out of that sectional. I think it will be Milan. I have them on my bracket. But I think that the North Decatur Chargers are going to be – it's going to be a different game than we saw the first time around. Okay, so we talked about the other side of the bracket. How about a little Wes-Del-Milan regional championship there? And that would be number seven versus number eight. Who's Wes-Del's biggest dub of the season? All right, looking at their schedule here. Okay, wow. They have outscored opponents 56-10. Okay, I mean, I'm looking here. Heritage Christian, they beat 50-6. Tri-Central, they beat 74-0. Blackford, they beat 72-36. Fort Wayne Blackhawk, they beat 32-7. They haven't had a close game. Wes-Del's got Zach Gillum. He's a junior running back, strong safety. 38 carries for 573. That seems like a lot of yards per carry. Yes, Wes-Del, one of our unbeaten teams. Yeah, nine touchdowns.
He's also a strong safety with 25 tackles, two and a half of those for a loss. How about I see you're Zach Gillum and I raise you a Riker Mauck? Oh, dude, this guy. How about all-name team for the 1A schools? Dude. Riker Mauck with 750 yards rushing 11 tutties. All right, let's keep rolling, Dom. All right, we like Milan. We like Milan. You think you're Milan? Well, we like Milan in sectional 46. I'm going to need to sleep on that one. Ooh, okay. Now we go to West Central, Indiana. These are some teams. Ooh, did we have Fountain Central on our list? I don't know if we had Fountain Central. We did have Fountain Central. Come on, dude. I wouldn't forget the Mustangs. Okay, so Parke County. This is where it gets interesting. And we do talk about up there in Vermillion County as well. We're having teams like North Central, Parke Heritage, North Vermillion. Riverton Parke is ranked second in Class 1A. They are one of our unbeaten teams here in sectional 47, Spang. Riverton Parke held that number one ranking for much of the season until Pioneer took down North Judson. The voters say they like Pioneer's body of work a little bit better. But I will say Riverton Parke. Well, Dom, you are not in the coach's poll. Yeah, it's messed up. Dude. The coach's poll has Riverton Parke as number one. Oh, do they? Coach's poll's number one. Well, I don't know. But Pioneer did just beat a top five team. So I have to say, you know, that's like Ohio State beating IU. Is that worth more than beating, you know, your little sister in a game of driveway basketball? I will say Riverton Parke has not been tested. It doesn't look like they've had a close game this season.
No fault of their own. No. But Brad Sanders' bunch is ready to rock and roll. They are one of our unbeaten teams. They're coming off an 11-1 campaign. Didn't win sectional, though. So this is the year for Riverton Parke to get it done. Led by Jet Lesniak, the senior running back. He's got 24 carries for 361. But the man finds the end zone. 10 touchdowns. Yes. Derek Column has 808 yards, eight tutties. And how about Victor Shootman? Shootman. Victor Shootman. Dude, hold on. We've got three running backs. I think Derek Column is playing fullback. Yeah, we got a – what is that? We've got three running backs listed. One of them plays running back and corner. Love that. That's 1A football. Quick math tells me 1,500 rushing yards between these. Between the three of these guys, we've got 1,500 rushing yards, but we've also got 22 touchdowns. How about that? That's a heck of a – hey, Riverton Parke spreads the love. Spreads the love. They spread the love there. Hey, you know what? Riverton Parke, sectional 47. Let's see what happens. I do think – I do think Riverton Parke comes out of this sectional. Looks like they have Cloverdale, though, and I don't want anyone to be sleeping on Cloverdale, okay? Now, they got tested twice. North Daviess and South Putnam didn't go exactly well. 54-7 lost to North Daviess. 63-0 lost to South Putt. No shame in the South Putt situation. South Putt's unreal. But what happens when Cloverdale and Riverton Parke suit up? I guess we'll see in sectional 47.
Well, so we've got – Cloverdale's got to beat Fountain Central, and then Covington and Attica are going to play. That's a 2-7 team versus a 1-8 team. I don't know who you had in your bracket. I kind of just – I went with Attica. Okay. I was just – that's solely based on mascot. Okay. Red Rambler. The Attica Red Ramblers. By the way, I'm printing every one of these brackets off when I get home. Oh, we have to, dude. But I do have Riverton Parke and Cloverdale facing off in the sectional championship, to which I have Riverton Parke advancing in sectional 47 to the regional. I don't hate that. All right. Well, let's move on down to sectional 48, Spang. We've got another bye here. This is our last 1A sectional. That is correct. And our last unbeaten team here in class 1A. It looks like we have four unbeaten teams in class 1A, the last of which North Daviess, who we've talked a lot about. Yes, sir. So we're going to say Forest Park, the Rangers, are taking on Crawford County, who is yet to find a win. The winner of that is going to get a date with North Knox, who's 2-7. So win that first game. Forest Park, the Rangers can win that first game, as I'm going to say. They might be able to find themselves in a sectional championship. Wait just a minute, Mr. Spangle, because we have a great battle to start sectional here in sectional 48. Yeah, buddy. We have 8-1 Tecumseh playing 9-0 North Daviess in the sectional opener, Mr. Spangle. Who the heck is Tecumseh's 1 loss to? North Posey, a 2A school. They lost 48-14, and North Posey is 8-1 on the season.
Wow. So how about that? So North Daviess and Tecumseh, that game will be at North Daviess. Hold on. I'm going to see if I can do a little. Oh, okay. So by association here, Dominic. Transitive. Transitive property. North Daviess lost to. North Daviess beat Springs Valley 34-12. Okay. Tecumseh beat Springs Valley 31-6. Transitive property. Those teams are right in the same way. They're right there. Wow. Okay. That's going to be a great game. Can't wait. Okay. North Daviess is 9-0. Trent Fine has been there nine years, has never won a sectional. Okay. So we'll see what happens there. But North Daviess. But, dude, they've got. North Daviess has senior quarterback Jason Jones. He's 127 of 190 attempts. 1,748 yards. 22 touchdowns. He's rushed it 110 times for 609 yards. 13 rushing touchdowns. So he is. So this guy's responsible for 35. He took his words right out of my mouth. What a year for Jason Jones. And that's really the first 1A school we've seen slinging the pill a little bit. I mean, who's he slinging it to? I don't know. We got. Well, actually, I do know. Sky Nip. 41 receptions, 700 yards, six touchdowns. He also has a pick on the year. So how about that? North Daviess. That's our last unbeaten in class 1A. I want to see the. I want to see. This is what I imagine happening. Again, I have no idea. I haven't watched any tape on North Daviess yet. But if you're throwing for 1,748 yards and 22 touchdowns, 700 of them are coming to your buddy Sky.
I feel like Sky's a deep threat. But he's getting down, like, you know, in the red zone. And then Jason Jones says, I'll carry this and get one of my 13 rushing touchdowns. I'll put it in the end zone. How about these eight, though? The way we have it right here, Spangle, we have on the left side of the bracket. Look in here. We have North Judson, Carroll, Pioneer, South Adams. Then we have Wes-Del, Milan, Riverton Parke, North Daviess. I don't know. This is where we might have some change, Spang. Who are your. So those are your sectionals in class 1A. Give me your final four. Dude, I am a sucker for an underdog. Okay. I'm a sucker for an underdog. Who's your underdog? And there's one great all-time underdog story. Triton. No. Gosh. That could happen this year. Triton, I'm already calling them out. 20, 30 state champions. Deal. But I'm going to take. Give me your final four. My final four. I'm going to have a rematch of the game we just saw a week ago. I've got North Judson, the Blue Jays, taking on Pioneer. Same. I've got on the other side. I'm switching. I'm switching right now. Whoa. Live on air. Can you do that? Yes, we can. Can you edit this? Yeah, it's editable. I'm going to go back and edit it. But I just had a feeling. He's got a feeling. I just had a feeling. I love teams that want to play the best football. And if you go up and schedule a really good 2A football team to end out your season, you only have two losses on the year, both of which to bigger schools that are also having great seasons.
Give me the Milan Indians. They're going to make it in the final four and they're going to be playing Riverton Parke. I have the exact same final four. Do you really? I have North Judson Pioneer and Milan Riverton Parke. I have Pioneer winning a state championship over Milan. Wow. Although I would love to see Milan get it done, by the way. That'd be really cool. Is that your state championship as well? I have North Judson winning that rematch. Oh, really? I have North Judson and I now have Milan and I'm taking the Milan Indians, baby. I love it. Hey, I love it. Give me Milan, the Indiana's ultimate underdog to win the state finals this year. The 7-2 Indians are going to go on a run here. They're going to make some hay here in the postseason, baby. Okay, so there you have it. I have Pioneer winning 1A. Spangle has Milan. So there's your class 1A report. That was good stuff, Mr. Spangle. What do you say we get on up to class 2A? Let's get into 2A. Let's 2A into 2A? Let's 2A into 2A. Let's do a 2A street into 2A. Yes, sir. So we're going to go to sectional 33, Mr. Spangle. That's where we're going to start. Let me clean up some of my tabs that I had open here. We're going into 2A, sectional 33. Now, to set the scene for you in class 2A, this is the class that sports the most unbeaten teams, Spangle. By the way, quick reminder, Spangle guessed there would be 14 remaining unbeaten teams. I guess there would be 20. There ended up being 24 unbeaten teams at the end of the regular season. We might need to track that over the years, but that just feels like a lot of unbeaten teams.
It does, doesn't it? That feels like a lot. But seven of which in class 2A, and we'll start in sectional 33. Where we're going to see Whiting, the Oilers, and Knox, both 3-6 teams. They're going to be competing for a date with another 3-6 team in LaVille. The Lancers. For me, Dominic, I have, I think that Knox has been trying to find their footing. Obviously, you know, talk about rebuild. More people got to learn to carry the ball there. I have Whiting getting this game done. And then I have Whiting winning the next game as well. So I have Whiting making a little run out here to the sectional finals. Where then you're going to see Rensselaer Central and Lake Station Edison. Obviously, Rensselaer RC, the Bombers. They're 7-2 versus a 1-8 Lake Station team. I've got RC on that one. Wheeler is taking on Boone Grove. I believe, don't quote me on that, but I believe they might have played before. Wheeler and Boone Grove, last time they played, that was a 37-0 game for the Bearcats. Let me tell you something. May I use your transitive property situation? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so Rensselaer Central and Wheeler have both played Griffith. Yep. Rensselaer Central lost 49-14. Wheeler lost 30-7. They will, might, the Rensselaer Central and Wheeler sectional semifinal matchup could prove to be interesting. I mean, that, but by the transitive property, all roads point to Wheeler. All roads point to all the sleuth Nancy Wheeler.
And that is who I have as my sectional 33 champion. Yes. Wheeler. Shout out to Wheeler. Conference game against Griffith. So it's not like they went out and scheduled that game. But Josh Wissing in his first season, 8-1. Okay, so I think Wheeler heads to the sectional championship there against Whiting. And I do think, I do believe, I do believe that the Wheeler Bearcats get it done. Now, this is where one gets interesting. We move into sectional 34. They're going to love that I talk about this one. The Bremen Lions are 6-3. They are good at football again. And they're taking on Prairie Heights, who has one win on the season, for a date with the unbeaten Eastside Blazers. Who got the bye. So, you know, all's well that ends well for those seeding truthers out there. We got two undefeated teams we've seen that have gotten a bye. So how about that? Eastside, man, they're good, Spang. Eastside, remember, they beat South Adams. They beat Adams Central. Okay? And then from there, kind of ran away with it. But how about those two games to start your season? South Adams and Adams Central. And getting it both done. All right? Alex Brandiwee. Brandiwee? I think he's Brandiwee. Doesn't matter because guess what? He's winning. Hasn't won a sectional, though, at Eastside. This is as good a shot as he's going to have. And Eastside, remember, they're ranked fourth in Class 2A. They get to rest up this week. And I do think Eastside gets this done in this sectional. Wow. I am going a different direction, Dominic.
Stop it. I'm going a different direction. I believe. One direction? In miracles, buddy. And I believe that. Do you don't believe in miracles? I believe that the Bremen Lions are on to something. Okay. And they're going to win this game. They're going to beat Eastside. Then they're going to beat Rochester Community. And I have Bremen going on a little run here, buddy. The 6-3 Bremen Lions are my sleeper team to watch. And I think they're going to get the job done. And it pains me to say that. As a trident. All right. This is one of those things where we called it a rivalry with Bremen. I don't know if they would have called it a rivalry. They beat us a lot. But geographical rivalry. Geographical rivalry. Well, let me tell you something. Any Eastside Blazers fans, let Spangle know what you think about that. But on the bottom side of that, what we have Manchester taking on Central Noble. Manchester's 3-6. Central Noble's 1-8. Lakeland taking on the Zebras of Rochester. Lakeland's 2-7. Rochester's 4-5. So I really think that our sectional finals, per se, is that Eastside versus Bremen game up on the semifinal there. I have Rochester making a little run out there to the sectional finals. Same. Where they're going to have a date in my bracket with Bremen. Okay. Well, you're robbing us of what would be an epic regional game between Wheeler and Eastside. On Eastside, though, we do want to give them a little bit of love and respect. Who do we have that's rocking it? I mean, this is a previous player of the week, right? Hey, one of our unbeaten teams, Eastside.
And yes, right, you are, Mr. Spangle. He is one of our former players of the week. That would be Mr. Job Richman. What's Job Richman got for us? Bro, he is. Look at this guy. Holy smokes. Wait, am I reading this right? Are my glasses foggy? So, Joe is, he tosses it a little bit, but he's a runner. Not very much. He's 30 for 55 for 469 and six touchdowns. That's thrilling. But he's running the ball. He has 136 carries for almost 1,400 yards. 13, 36 and 18 rushing touchdowns. Quick math. He's about 24 yards shy of averaging 10 yards a carry. Oh, my gosh. That's crazy. That's pretty crazy. That is insane. Yeah, you're right. No, he's four yards. What if it was, if he had 14? No, 136. If he had 1360, that'd be 10 yards a carry. Yeah, yeah. But I don't do public math. That's fine. And I don't do public spelling. Public math? I don't do public math and I don't do public spelling. But he's also, they're splitting up the carries there with Noah Dove, the junior running back 90 carries for 945 and 20 touchdowns. Okay. So between two guys on their team, they're over 2,000 rushing yards and 38 rushing touchdowns. Dude, I got to know who they have on the O-line. I got to bet that Eastside's offensive line are just some. They strike me as milk and cheese. Stuff them, baby. That's good stuff. Milk and cheese. Let me tell you something. Those boys. Growing up, you know, we had a couple gallons of whole milk in the main fridge and we had about four more gallons of whole milk in the garage fridge.
Wow. That's how you feed three growing boys. That's right. Anyway, shout out Angie Miranda. Getting a lot of love on this pod. She gets nothing but love from all of us. That's really cool, though. I think Eastside's really good. I do think Eastside's good. The one other defensive player we need to talk about is Ty Siebert. Siebert. 90 tackles on the year, 15 tackles for loss, four sacks and a pick. Okay. 90 tackles. We got to give some love for Eastside because they have been paving the way to varsity offensive line. We've got Cooper Kaiser, Gavin Franklin, Micah Miller, Wyatt Scholl, and Cole Ohmspacher. What's the average height and weight? I don't have the roster listed there, but those are the boys. Oh, they have a graphic. A little graphic of the varsity offensive line. They don't look that big. I mean, they're big. Yes, they do for 2A. I mean, yeah, but they're not like, you know, these aren't like 700 pound guys. These are just dogs working in the trenches, baby. All right, buddy. Let's go to sectional 35. Okay. But it looks like, correct me if I'm wrong, going up there, matching up in regional. I have Wheeler and Eastside and Mr. Spangle has Wheeler and Bremen. I do. Okay. I do. All right. Hey, I pick with my heart. I pick with my heart. Not necessarily with my head all the time. Wait, I'm actually a little later on in 2A. I have a little, little story. Great story. All right. As well. We move on to sectional 35 where we've got Elwood taking on Delphi. We've got. How about Elwood scraping together seven games? Even with the numbers problem. They're taking on Delphi.
And I believe what will be 11-man football. I have to just assume. Yeah, I mean. Elwood's got Delphi. Seeger. The Patriots are seven and two. Taking on Oak Hill. Seeger's won five in a row. Okay. Seeger's won five in a row. And it looks like they've scored a lot in those games. Some close games too. So watch out for the Patriots. They're tested. Then we're going to have Tipton, the Blue Devils, taking on Eastern. The undefeated Eastern Comets up in Greentown. That's right. They're nine and oh. And then we have at the bottom of that bracket, Lewis Cass is six and three. Peru is six and three. That's a good matchup too. Well, let's talk about Eastern. One of our unbeaten teams here. Ranked in Class 2A. We got Bently Hullinger. Hullinger. 41 receptions. 984 yards. All right. So we're talking about almost than a thousand-yard receiver in the regular season in 2A football. 16 touchdowns. But who's slinging him the rock, Dom? Okay. Gibson Eagle. 109. 109 completions for 2,252 yards. 27 touchdowns. Dominic, he has not thrown an interception. Time out. We got to appreciate this. There's no chance. Okay. I'd just like to repeat this. We have a 2,200 and some change yard passer with 27 touchdowns and no interceptions. And we have a 16-yard short from a thousand-yard receiver and 16 touchdowns on a 2A football team. Dude, I think I'm going to go back to my bracket. I think we got to talk about Eastern. Can we talk about that? He's thrown 27 touchdowns.
He's thrown the ball 162 times and has not landed in the hands of an opposing defensive back. And he also has rushed for 500 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. So he's responsible for 39 touchdowns. And by the way, he also has 59 tackles, two of which for a loss, a sack, and two picks. He's gotten more picks than he's thrown. Gibson Eagle. You got our attention, bud. We see you. They also got Abe Edwards. He's got 52 carries for 367, two touchdowns. And this man, though, he is a bad man from the linebacker spot. 106 tackles, 22 tackles for a loss, four sacks. Four hurries. I didn't even know they kept track of that in high school football. Well, so I got a little Eastern Seeger sectional championship. I do have Eastern getting out of sectional 35 to remain unbeaten. Yep. I also do. No disrespect to the Patriots. They're a heck of a team. Yeah, they are. Truly. Eastern Greentown. They're who I have making a little run here as well. All right. Hey, let's head up the little north because this sectional has a chance to have an epic sectional championship, Mr. Spangle. Yes, sir. And we're talking about sectional 36. Yes. And we're talking about Hagerstown, baby. This is Frankton, two and seven versus the undefeated Tigers of H-Town, baby. Then you've got Shenandoah at one and eight. Winchester, again, sorry for missing you on our list. They're at five and four. Alexandria Monroe, six and three. I would just like to say we verbalized Winchester for sure.
We did verbalize it, but I did not put it down. You were going too quick. Too quick. Alexandria Monroe takes on Northeastern and the Lapel Bulldogs are squaring off against the Blackford Bruins. Okay. So I'm just going to cut to the chase here. I'm looking at a Hagerstown Lapel sectional title on November 6th and I am licking my chops for this game. Yeah, I would also agree. Dominic. I have Lapel making a little run here. I do want to check to see has Lapel played. I don't believe they have played Alexandria. Okay. We have transitive property time. Transitive property time. Okay. Shenandoah has played both Hagerstown and Lapel. Hagerstown, they kept it within 18 and lost Lapel. They lost by 36. I think Lapel's good. So how about that? But all that being said, Mr. Spangle, I too believe in underdog stories. I too believe in the narrative. And I too believe that I was in Hagerstown just weeks after a flood wrecked their city. And I believe that I talked to coach Scott Snodgrass and boy, was I intimidated by that man. And I got to tell you, I have Hagerstown shocking the world and beating Lapel in the sectional championship of sectional 36. Wow. And moving on to the regional. Dominic, I am going to disagree with you. Okay. I have not shaken the hand of prestigious coach Scott Snodgrass. I would change your mind. I hope to one day do that.
But you've got to give me, you've got to give me the bulldogs of Lapel who are eight and one. They're only lost coming to Eastern Hancock in a great game. Oh, it was. I believe that Lapel is going to get the job done. They're going to get by Blackford. I think they're going to have a good matchup with Alexandria Monroe. I think that team's a six win team. They're sneaky. But I have. Is that your school? I mean, we've got a live audience. Live audience. Job shadowing. Wearing his Alexandria Monroe sweatshirt in here. Sweatshirt. But I'm saying, give me Lapel. And I think we're going to see a regional matchup that is going to be absolutely fireworks between Eastern and Lapel. Okay. Hey, can I talk about Hagerstown unbeaten real quick? Yeah. Give us the update. All right. We got Nick Tinkle, who has 734 receiving yards, nine touchdowns. He's also got 77 tackles, 13 and a half for loss. Dude, this guy gets in the backfield. Two interceptions. And we got Mason Hunt, who has 565 rushing yards, eight touchdowns as well. 516 rushing yards. What did I say? 565. Yeah, same thing. You can't forget about Cale Schmidt. 82 tackles. Dude, what is a good amount of tackles for a season? Well, I would say you have nine regular season games. So if you're up around 80, 70 to 90, that's about what? You're getting 10 tackles a game. That's what I'm saying. That's pretty impressive. Yeah. Holy. The 13 and a half tackles for loss is very impressive. So Spangle is going to have a Lapel Eastern regional championship. I have a Hagerstown Eastern regional championship.
Yeah. And then we move over to the backside. Backside. Well, we've got left side. Sectional 37, Spang. What do you got? Ooh. We're going to see S-C-E-C-I-N-A. Rocky left. They're taking on Triton Central. Scecina's got one win on the season. The Tigers are Triton Central. They're 3-6. Then we've got an undefeated the Saints of Indianapolis Lutheran taking on Park Tudor. Another undefeated matchup, or another undefeated team, the Royals of Eastern Hancock are taking on Christel House. Ritter takes on Covenant Christian. Okay. A lot of wins in this section. Two. Yes. Very good sectional. 37. We have two unbeaten teams we got to talk about. Indy Lutheran. All right. I was there three years ago when they won Class 1A State for the third consecutive season. Okay. They bumped up to 2A, still in search of that state championship in 2A, at least in my memory. Maybe they have. I don't think they have. But Dave Pasch, one of the very best coaches in all of Indiana high school football. Lutheran, 12-2, two years ago, went to semi-state. 11-2 last year, went to regional. They are hungry for that first 2A state title, and it's going to be difficult. But let's talk about Lutheran because they are undefeated, and they feature some very good players. All right. How about Rodney Freeman with 485 yards receiving eight touchdowns? And we got a 744-yard rusher in Braylon Riddner with 10 touchdowns. So, look, Indy Lutheran's really good.
They got the pedigree. They got the history. They got the tradition. But I got to tell you, Spang, I haven't seen a lot of 2A teams that made me feel the way Eastern Hancock makes me feel when I watch them play. Dude, they're good at football. They are very good at football. They're outscoring people 50-10. Remember, they have a first-year head coach in William Kuntz. Dude, I was trying to put it together of where I knew John Pasch. Dave Pasch. Dave, his son John was at DePaul with us. Shut up. Yeah. Dude, you don't remember this guy? No way. Are you serious right now? That's Dave. Where's John? Dude, yes. Yeah. The strength of the defensive line coach for Lutheran. No way. Yeah, that's John. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you serious? Dude, that name sounds so familiar. Yeah, I'm putting it all together now. Dave Pasch is also a broadcaster for ESPN. That's his name. They're different people. I was like, what doesn't this guy do? But yeah, how about that? That could be a potential crazy matchup spank between Lutheran and Eastern Hancock. I mean, Eastern Hancock, ever since I saw those highlights of the Lapel game. I know. Holy smokes. That was one of my favorite games I've done on Channel 13. I've been in on Eastern Hancock. They've got Luke Manship. He's going 827 yards receiving. He's averaging 23.6 yards every time he catches the ball. 12 touchdowns. He's also a linebacker with 72 tackles. 13 and a half tackles for loss. Whoa. Five and a half sacks. Two picks. Three fumble recoveries. Okay. Luke Manship is an absolute Manship. He's only a junior playing in that tight end linebacker spot.
Wow. Blake Whittington. He's another junior. Hey, are we? Oh my gosh. We are all juniors. They're juniors. 135 carries. A thousand yard season. 20 touchdowns. Playing in the DB role. 68 tackles. 68 tackles from a defensive back. That's impressive. Eight of them for loss. They must blitz their corner or their safety or whatever it is. One sack, two INTs, and two fumble recoveries. They get the ball on the ground. And how about their QB? Little Matt Hunt. Young Matt Hunt. A young Matt Hunt. Dude, he's almost thrown 1,898 yards. 27 touchdowns. He has thrown 11 picks. So? But he's rushed the ball 80 times for 624 yards and four rushing touchdowns. He's a gunslinger. He is a gunslinger. Okay, I would like Eastern Hancock Matt Hunt to meet DePaul Tigers Matt Hunt. That could be fun. I want to say, Dom, for me, for me, personally, I'm all in on Eastern Hancock. I couldn't agree with you more. I do think that Covenant Christian is a good team. I think they're going to beat that first game in Ritter. I think that Eastern Hancock is going to beat Christel House. I think that Covenant Christian will give them a good little matchup in that semifinal. I got to tell you something. I'm just feeling a little bit of a run for the Royals. I am as well. But I got to tell you, I could see this going either way. I also chose Eastern Hancock to win. But Eastern Hancock Indy Lutheran is going to be an epic battle. Yeah. For the sectional championship. Absolutely. November 6th. Mark it in your calendar.
It's going to be a good one. It's going to be sectional championship week. It's going to be lots of fun. Lutheran, Eastern Hancock. We got our eyes on you. Spangle and I are both favoring Eastern Hancock. But you know what? Anything can happen. But hey, let's head out by Greencastle for sectional 38. Yes, sir. Where are we going to see the 0-9 Vikings of West Vigo taking on North Putnam? They're 6-3. Monrovia, the Bulldogs are taking on Southmont. Again, very winnable game either way. They're 3-6 Monrovia versus 4-5 Southmont. The Tiger Cubs have South Vermillion. The Tiger Cubs are 4-5. The Wildcats of South Vermillion are 5-4. And then this might be the greatest first-round sectional matchup that we've seen. I don't think I've heard of one better. I don't think I've seen one better yet. This is the situation. Remember, we set the table for this before the season even started. We said. I want to go back and clip that. Yeah, we should. We might need Dom predicting this. Did I? I wonder if I did. I think you might. Cascade won Class 3A state championship a year ago. South Putnam won Class 1A state championship a year ago. South Putnam bumped up to 2A for success. Cascade bumped down to 2A for enrollment. We knew they were in the same sectional. We knew it was inevitable. But no disrespect to any of these other teams. But the sectional title is decided on Friday at 7 o'clock. South Putnam and Cascade. I mean, this needs to be like on ESPN 6. This is a game of the week, dude. This is insane.
Nick Brickens in his first year at Cascade, 8-1. Their only loss was Week 2 to Danville, who has had an undefeated regular season in Class 4A, folks. 34-21. So they kept it within throwing distance. South Putnam has absolutely ran through their schedule. They've only played half their schedule. 56-4, they're outscoring people. 56-4. Give me their recent scores. Give me their last five. South Put? Yeah. Happy to. Let's start on September 18th. 58-0 over Sullivan. 70-0 over West Vigo. 45-7 over a ranked 4A Northview. 64-0 over Owen Valley. 63-0 over Cloverdale. And that's just your last five or six. Tom, we just talked about how we thought any—if you have 70 to 90 tackles, like, you're having a pretty good season. Oh, boy. Let me tell you about Keenan Mowery-Shields, the senior OLB.
116 tackles, 33 of which are for a loss. Say that again. 116 tackles, 33 tackles for loss. 33 tackles for loss. Spangle, if my math is correct. Plus the seven sacks. Seven sacks. So that's almost a sack a game. Almost. 33 tackles for loss. My public school education tells me that's over three tackles a loss per game. He's getting in the backfield and making a play. That's insane. Dude, this guy. And we talked—he's going to— Lindenwood? Lindenwood. He's added to Lindenwood. Excellent. Congratulations, Keenan Mowery-Shields. But he's not doing this alone, Dom. No. On the offensive side, he's got Ty Benton, the senior running back with 112 carries for 1,463 yards, 25 touchdowns. So he's averaging well over 10 yards, Kerry. Dude. 25 rushing touchdowns. Folks, these numbers are out of this world. I don't know if we're doing them justice right now. Then we've got Branson Enzer. He's got 13 receptions for 377. That's a crazy—that's actually crazy. And five touchdowns. That's like 20 yards to catch or something. I mean, South Putnam—and check all the comments. Go watch the tape. They're playing one half of football. Yep. We've been on South Putnam this year. Can I just say something? My Mr. Indiana football contenders video, the number one contender that—because I ended the video saying, hey, tell me.
Tell me. Maybe I'm missing some folks across the state. Ty Benton came up more than anybody else. Dude, call me crazy. Can a defensive player win Mr. Football? Well, he should be in contention. Keenan Mowery-Shields— What if he was doing this in Indy? Keenan Mowery-Shields needs to be in contention. 116 tackles, 33 fair loss, and 7 sacks? Indianapolis is like the SEC. Everyone's saying SEC bias, Indy bias. They want some love. Dude, I mean, South Putnam, holy smokes, man. Okay, I just want to say this again. I don't feel like this has been properly appreciated. 33 tackles for loss in nine regular season games. That's insane. Almost 1,500 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns for Ty Benton in nine regular season games. But only—wait, remember. Only halves. He's only played in the first half. He's only played four and a half regular season games. That's crazy. Wait, I'm looking it up. I got to see, like, by the games on the defensive side. Oh, my gosh. He had three and a half versus North Putnam. Four versus Greencastle. These are tackles for loss. Three and a half versus North Putnam. Four versus Greencastle. Two and a half against Edgewood. One and a half, two, four, four, five and a half. Six tackles for loss against Cloverdale. Wow, man. Look, I think South Putnam Cascade's going to be great, but I just think South Putnam is too good. I think they're too good. They might be too good, buddy. But let's see them against the cream of the crop there. Yeah. Class two. I'm going to be watching that one. I am going to be watching that game.
All right, so I think I can speak for Spangle. We both have South Putt coming out of that sectional. We'll see what happens with Cascade. But that's setting up for a South Putnam Eastern Hancock Regional. All right. Keep moving. All right, two more to go here in Class 2A. Let's head on down to Paradise City. We've got 39. We've got Salem. The Lions taking on Brown County. Salem's 5-4. Brown County's 1-8. The winner of that is probably going to have a date with the undefeated Brownstown Central Braves. They've got Providence, who's 1-7 on the season. Okay. Then at the bottom of the bracket, we've got Switzerland Counties 3-6. The Mitchell Blue Jackets are 1-8. That's a good little matchup right there. Eastern, not in Greentown. Eastern is down in Pekin. They're 2-7. Taking on Clarksville. The Generals, they're 6-3. Go to the General and save some time. Excellent poll. Thank you. Dom. Brownstown Central has been just waiting. That is the one thing missing from Reed May's resume, Spangle. He needs a state championship. Okay. This guy's, again, I don't feel like people are appreciating this. Reed May is 335-66. 335-66. He just had his 400th game. Not that long ago. 335 plus 66. Last game. Two games ago. He's at 401, 402, something like that. Unbelievable. Brownstown Central has put together a really good year. Absolutely. They're ranked first. Well, according to the USA poll, I have to imagine the coaches poll has South Putnam first, which is probably correct.
South Putnam is number one in the coaches poll. Yeah. That's where I'm a coaches man. Dom continues to go for the USA today. Sorry. That's just what I click. I don't. Yeah. Brownstown Central is led by Eli Hutchinson. He's a junior quarterback. He's thrown for 614 yards, six touchdowns. He's rushed it 47 times for another 493 yards. So what do they do well? Because none of this is like jumping off the screen to me. They win football games, dude. That's what they do well. You know what? That's a great answer. They win football games, Tom. That's a great answer. I mean, what's their, what are their scores been? Okay. Well, 35, 42, 54, 34, 72 to six, 42 to seven, 43, nothing, 41, nothing, 35, nothing. They haven't allowed a point since September 25th. Oh man. Seymour. The owls. They must be sharing the love with other people. So they're down by Louisville. Is that correct? Brownstown Central. It's like, it's near Seymour. It's in Brownstown. Okay. Jackson County. Kind of like on your way down there. It's probably still an hour away. Okay. Then you have Lyndon Lanier. Lyndon B. Johnson. Lyndon Lanier. The junior running backs carried the ball 59 times for 685, 13 touchdowns. I want to see some JV stats on this team. I think that their young guns are probably getting in there too. Cause I mean, if you're doing the math on these 59 carries and 47 carries, four touchdowns, 13 touchdowns. He's also received it. You know, he's caught the ball 10 times, received it. He's also caught the ball 10 times for 222 and two receiving touchdowns. Like the math just isn't mathing totally for me.
I think that their young guys have to be getting in. I think you're right. And then finally on the defensive side, Eric justice. He's got 19 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 10 sacks. All right. Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey, 10 sacks. That's over one a game. Eric justice, the offensive line or the outs, the offensive line, defensive lineman, the senior, he's got 10 sacks. That's, that's good. Anytime you're getting in the backfield one time per game, like, hello, sir. You've caught my, hello. Brownstown. I think coming out of sectional 39, but you know, a lot of people have said, Dom Brownstown, schedule's not that good. Brownstown, this Brownstown that well, read may time for you and your bunch to shut up the haters here. All right. Let's see it in class in the sectional 39 there. I do think Brownstown emerges and we have one more sectional here in class two, a, that would be sectional 40. This is the Southern Indiana sectional. We've got the marksman of Tell City. They're six and three taking on South Spencer. Who's four and five Linton-Stockton. Hey, the one in eight minors take on the Oh, and nine Pike central chargers, Perry central, the Commodores, they're two and seven. They're taking on North, North Posey. The North Posey is eight and one. The Rams of Paoli are taking on the Eastern green Thunderbirds, Paoli six and three Thunderbirds. They're inverse at three and six. Here's what I'm looking forward to in this sectional ready. I am looking forward to a South Spencer running to the sectional final and playing North Posey.
Who's eight and one. You know what the score was last time North Posey and South Spencer played? What was the score? 56, 55 in overtime. Oh, wow. South Spencer is matched up with Tell City. They played Tell City last week and lost by seven. South Spencer did. So they're playing Tell City back to back weeks. No way. How about that? Wow. So North Posey is ranked in class two way. They're only lost to Heritage Hills. Who's in four. And they're really good, but they beat South Spencer 56, 55 in overtime. So I would love to see a rematch. So we've got three teams that are all pretty competitive, right? This is why the transitive property doesn't always work because South Spencer, North Posey and Tell City have all played each other. South Spencer lost to Tell City by seven. Yep. North Posey beat Tell City by 23, but North Posey only beat South Spencer by one. Even though South Spencer lost to Tell City by seven. You see what I'm saying? Dude, the math doesn't always math. Math doesn't always math. The transitive property isn't always the way you have in your sectional final. All right. So I got North Posey. So I might have to make a change to my bracket. Yeah. But I have North Posey and Tell City. I have a feeling that South Spencer is going to be. Wow. Yeah. You know, I had North Posey winning, but something about South Spencer. They're just starting to tickle my fancy. I've got North Posey. I've got Tell City. I have North Posey winning that game. Uh, they are really good at football. They're only lost being to Heritage Hills.
Yep. And then I have that regional game, North Posey and Brownstown Central. I might be changing my, uh, my thoughts here. I low key might too. After diving into the numbers, I think, I hope they prove us wrong. Read may prove us wrong. They need to prove us wrong. Hey, read may you win a state championship. You are on this podcast, buddy. Yeah, it's for sure. I mean, 400 wins. We'd love to have them on. Yeah. And I don't want to like, you know, one where eventually when you put out predictions, you're going to get clipped. Oh, of course. It's going to happen. That's all. That's all good. I who's your final four. I think I'm changing. I think I'm changing everything. My final four, my final four, one, I'm going with my heart on one side. You better remember these changes. Uh, it's a one a two. I'm going to do it. I'm going Bremen versus Lapel in semi-state. Whoa, Bremen. Bremen versus Lapel in semi-state in the Lapel bulldog. Dogs are going to get it done. They're unfortunate to. Okay. Wow. On the other side, I'm flip-flopping. I'm going South Putnam versus North Posey. Okay. Wow. Okay. I'm, I'm shook. The Eastern Hancock South Putnam game, I think is going to be fireworks too. If that were to come to fruition. Yeah. A hundred percent. Okay. So I have Wheeler and Hagerstown. Remember the old underdog story? Wait, you're going Hagerstown? I have Hagerstown making a run to the state title. No way. I got South Putnam beating Brownstown Central in semi-state and I have South Put beating Hagerstown in the state championship. This is good. We got, we got some good.
We got a lot of difference there. Yeah. Absolutely. I like that. I love that. I think this would be a great time to hear from our friends at Ascend Football. I was literally, you were reading my mind. Quick pause in the action to tell you about our friends at Ascend Football. They will take great care of you. Now let's get back into the action. All right. Thanks for that word from Ascend Football. We have a podcast coming out probably in the month of November with Randy Fisher and DeJuan Daniels. So we're very excited about that. You'll hammer a little more on DeJuan's story. Dude, his story's insane. Super Bowl champ multi-time. Dude, you're also forgetting Mr. Football. 1997? Yes, sir. You did name him, but barely. Barely. Great guys. So thank you to Ascend Football. All right. We're going to go into 3A, Mr. Spangle. We're going to start at sectional 25. Now this is a class that we have some question marks on.
3A kind of wide open. I think the only team that's really asserted itself is Evansville Memorial. It's competitive. All right. Let's talk about it because this has one of my favorite teams that's been a little bit late attention paid to by the Get IN. Sports podcast. And they start right off the jump. Sectional 25. We're starting with Griffith and Andrean. Unreal. Now Griffith versus Andrean. First round. Griffith is undefeated 9-0. Andrean is 8-1. Number two versus number six. Mm-hmm. Andrean's only loss of the season to Merrillville to start the season 27-21. Dude. And Chris Skinner, head coach of the Fighting 59ers, is one win away from win number 100 at the school. Remember, Andrean coming off a state championship in class 2A up in 3A. Well, welcome to the show. You got Griffith. So hereby, you know we love the transitive property here. Transitive property. Griffith played Lowell third week of the season. It was a Griffith victory 36-28. Then Lowell played Andrean. And it was an Andrean victory 21-7. Okay. So this is going to be a good game. So we have an eight-point win for Griffith week three. And then we had a 14-point win for Andrean. Both over Lowell. Andrean, notably a very good defensive team. They won the state championship, I believe, 7-0. Oh. Over Brownstown Central last year. Really? Yeah. Do we? Oh. Let me dive. That's real talk.
Real talk. That is real. Yep. 7-0 over Brownstown Central last season. Holy smokes, Dom. That might be one of the best games of the state here in the first week of sectionals. I mean, that is a true matchup. That's a true heavyweight bout. If we dive into Griffith just a little bit deeper. Yeah. One of our undefeated. They are an undefeated team, Dom. Oh, my gosh. Talk to me about Desmond Nealon. Desmond Nealon, the senior running back, has got 230 carries. And he is 45 yards away from a 2,000-yard season. Is this guy in Mr. Football Talks? Desmond Nealon, 1,965 yards, 27 touchdowns. This guy touches the ball a lot. Holy cow. 230. Quick math here. Let's see if they had 10 games. That'd be 23. So over, I'd say, 25 carries a game. Yeah. Holy cow, man. He is getting the ball. He's 45 yards. 1,965 yards, 27 touchdowns. Desmond Nealon, hello. So Griffith can run the football, folks. Who's catching the football for him, Dom? I'll tell you who's catching the football for him. Sebastian Kutcher. Kutcher. Kutcher? Ashton Kutcher's long-lost twin? 27 receptions, 380 yards, six tutties. How about Mason Littke with 104 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and a sack on the season? Griffith's a team we didn't really start talking about until later in the year, Spang. They beat Wheeler, who's highly ranked in Class 2A, 30-7. They haven't been tested much. I'm going to be honest with you, Spang.
Outside of that Lowell game that you referenced, they've been beating teams up pretty good. You know, Rensselaer Central, 49-14. Gary West, 51-0. And Calumet, 56-6. Munster was a high-scoring game, 48-37. Griffith's football is back, it feels like, under Phil Mason. Hasn't won a sectional yet during his four-year stint there at Griffith. Oh, I found him on Twitter, Desmond Nealon Jr. He is a 5'7", 175, 315 on the bench, 500 on the squat, 550 on the deadlift, 225 on the hang clean. So an absolute unit. This guy has muscles on muscles. Not only do we have Griffith Andrean, which is going to steal the show here, but we got Twin Lakes and River Forest, Calumet and Bishop Noll. So I think the question becomes, Spang, who is Griffith playing in the sectional championship on November 6th? Who do we think is going to come out of that last four? So I have the 6-3 Twin Lakes over 3-6 River Forest. No disrespect to the Ingots. The Ingots, great mascot. Twin Lakes, they're 6-3. I think they had a really... They were flirting with the rankings. Yeah, they've been in and out, or like been right on the border. Yep. And then you have Calumet and Bishop Noll. So this is what happened. Twin Lakes won their first five games of the season. Then remember, West Lafayette hadn't won a game, but beat Twin Lakes. And since that point in time, Twin Lakes just won in three. So kind of a mid-season shift of how the momentum was going there. But I do think Twin Lakes meets up with Griffith in the sectional title.
Now that would be crazy. Looking back, I filled this out on the plane, but Griffith and Drain. That, I don't know. Maybe, do I change? Do I roll with the undefeated Griffith? Griffiths? Oh, man. What's their mascot, Spang? Well, Griffith is the Panthers. Panthers. All right. And the winner of... This is what's crazy. You have Griffith versus Drain. They're going to have a date with the 1-8 Bison of Benton Central. Okay. Benton Central is getting a bye there. I don't know, man. Tough to go against the returning state champions. I know. But they're up in Class 3A. It's a region battle here to start out sectional. We'll go through our favorite matchups at the end in all the classes. But that's one of them. Yeah. We move into the next sectional. I think we're going to see the winner of this game have a spot in regionals. I'll just say it. I think that it's Andrain or Griffith. The winner of that first sectional game. Yeah, I agree. Winner of week one is probably going to make their way to, I mean, maybe a little bit of a run, too. Next, we go down to sectional 26. This one's kind of close to home. This is close to home. And how about Tippy Valley 8-1, Spang? Only lost to Adams Central. Which is, I mean, it was a telling loss. If I remember right, it was kind of a throttling. 33-12. Yeah. So, interesting. Adams Central has been a little bit of Otis elevator this season for us. We've got Tippy Valley, Jimtown. Jimtown's still 6-3. They're always, always ready to play football when it comes to Jimtown. Let me tell you something about Tippy Valley.
Under Stephen Moriarty, they're 72-33. He's in 10 years at the school. Never won a sectional. Oh. Now, I think they've bounced around sectionals because I almost am, I'm positive they played Chatard last year in their sectional. Almost positive. Mm-hmm. Because when Chatard was in 3A, might have not been last year, but you know what I'm saying. So, this is as good of chance as any for Tippy Valley to finally break through that glass ceiling and win sectional, Spang. But, you know, West Noble's 8-1 as well. They're only lost to Northridge, who we know that aged very nicely. Monty Mayhorter, the head coach, in his 28th season there with the Chargers. They lost their first game of the year to Northridge, rattled off eight straight. Yeah. Well, so they've been, Tippy Valley has been in, so they were in 3A. They lost, they drew, they were at a 9-0 season. They were undefeated in the regular season and then lost to Chatard. This was back in 2023. Yes. 40-7. Mm-hmm. Then they were 7-4. They got to the second round and lost to Garrett, 42-13. Last year, they lost to Angola, who ended up giving everything they had to Knox later on in the postseason there, too. So, good little run there. We'll see what the Vikings have of Tippy Valley. Jimtown, again, nothing to sleep on there. They're 6-3. They can always do some damage. I actually had Marion winning this sectional, and I have a feeling I might need to shift that. Okay. All right. Because Marion's 3-6, not looking too hot. Now, Dom, I think this is going to be a pretty good game here because, oh my gosh, we have a head-to-head.
This is a rematch, Dom. What's a rematch? Tippy Valley and Jimtown's a rematch. Tippy Valley and Jimtown is a rematch. 17-15. Whoa. On September 25th. Whoa. Holy smokes. So, this is going to be a good game to start, and then they have West Noble. Did Tippy Valley and West Noble play during the regular season? They did not. Basically, what happens, do we think, on October 30th in the semifinal between Tippy Valley and West Noble? Well, one, I'm saying, I think that it's crazy that you're assuming that Tippy Valley's going to beat Jimtown. Yeah, I think that's fair. It was a two-point game. It's a two-point game. It was a two-point game. I am, I did, in my bracket, I did go with Tippy Valley. Same. But, that's a two-point game. You can go either way. All I'm going to tell you is, don't doubt the Jimmys. Never doubt the Jimmys. Yeah. Then you have, okay, Fairfield and Glenn. They're playing. Glenn's only got one win on the season. They actually played in the second game of the season. Fairfield won 34-14. Okay. So, imagine we see Fairfield versus Angola. Angola taking down the three and six. And it sounds like John Glenn's head coach left under interesting circumstances during the season. This season? That's what I'm hearing. Oh. I actually remember a direct message I got. And John Harrell corroborates this story because it says, Coach blank. 0-1 in first year at school. Oh. So, something happened there. Anyway. Yep. But then we got Marion and Angola spank. So, what do we think happens in sectional 26 here? Um. Oh, man. Mishawaka Marian. That's correct. I thought you were talking about the Marion Giants.
No. Mishawaka Marian. Okay. Uh. I think we're going to see Angola over Marion. Whoa. I mean, Angola's six and three. They, and I remember, it was the Miles McLaughlin game last year. I think it was where he broke. I think it was the game that he broke. Single season? The single. No, the career, maybe. I think it was like Derrick Henry's thing. It was crazy. Well, he, he came up just shy of Derrick Henry's national record. Oh. I thought he beat it. No. Are you sure? Positive. Because on Sunday Night Football, they compared, uh, Derrick Henry and Bijan's whole careers, like high school, college, pro, and under Derrick Henry has said, most career high school rushing yards ever. And that was just a couple weeks ago. Okay. I pay attention to the broadcasts, all right? As a broadcaster myself. Angola only lost to West Noble by seven. So, like, look, the Hornets are not going to be an easy out. So, I'm, I'm wondering if I need to reframe my sectional 26 picks here. I think you might be, uh. I should have waited to do this when we were going through it. Oh. Because I think it would have been better. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Miles McLaughlin is third all time. 11, 8, 3, 9. Wow. That's pretty crazy, though. Um, okay. So, I do think, though, I'm going to go out on a limb here. I might change my pick. Okay. I have it. But it was Miles McLaughlin is the all-time single season rushing leader with 4,768 yards in one season. That's insane. Dude, he ran the ball every time. I'm going to be honest. This sectional 26 is a toss-up. I don't know who's going to win this sectional. I think I could see Tippy Valley winning it. I could see West Noble winning it. I could see Marion or Angola winning it. I mean, it is up in the. You've got a lot of love for the Knights.
I could see Jimtown winning it. Yeah. I mean, this is going to be a toss-up. I am in my bracket. I rolled with the Hornets of Angola. Okay. I, you know what? I kind of like that. Angola. Okay. We'll see. Sectional 27. This is where we run into our friends at Bluffton. Oh. All right. The Tigers are on a generational terror. They are 7th and 3A. This is one of their best seasons they've ever had under Brett Kunkel in his 10th year at the school. Okay. Remember, they beat Adam Central for the first time in quite some time. Adam Central really is like the measuring stick. Yeah. I feel like they're like, they're always in some of these common opponents. I know. So, Brent Kunkel has won sectional twice with Bluffton in 22 and 23, but never run the table in the regular season. Yeah. So. Best. I think we saw best regular season in like online recorded history. Yeah. Remember, you went back a bunch of years and it wasn't great. So, Bluffton. The Tigers. This is your time. Well, they're led by senior running back linebacker Cooper Craig. He's got 117 carries for 1,210 yards, 24 touchdowns. Okay. Don't throw it much here. In fact, their quarterback, Axton Bestie. Best? Bestie. Best. I like Bestie. I think it might be best. I think you're right. Axton Best. Only 42 throwing attempts on the season. They run the football, baby. Okay. So, he only has 600. Up in Wells County. 607 yards, nine touchdowns, but he does have 600 rushing yards. He's only nine rushing yards short of surpassing his passing yards.
So, here's the question. By the end of the season, do you think that Axton Best is going to pass or run for more yards? Run. I think he'll be running for more yards. We're going to see. He's also a linebacker. He's got 12 tackles and a pick. You better believe it. Come on. That's the Bluffton Tigers, baby. All right. So, in sectional 27. So, they're squaring up against Garrett. Garrett's three and six. I got to hope that, I got to think that Bluffton stays unbeaten there. They did beat Woodland early in the season. So, they have a win over a sectional opponent. Don't sleep on Norwell, all right? Norwell's had some difficult games. They've played East Noble. They've played DeKalb. They've played Columbia City. Lost all three of those games. Lost to Leo as well and New Haven, but kept it within a stone's throw. A good regular season will prepare you. Yeah. And that's what our coach always told us when we were, you know, one and nine or one and eight or whatever going into sectionals. Like, you're battle tested. That's right. Okay. And, like, let's not sleep on Heritage and obviously Adam Central as well. So, Bluffton and Adam Central played. Look, it was just an eight-point game. So, what if Adam Central and Bluffton play in the sectional title? What happens there? It's hard to predict these games. I mean, dude, it gets hard there. I, in my bracket, I have Bluffton. All right. But I have them against Adam Central in the sectional finals, and I think that's a close game. I think you're absolutely right, Spangle. I also have Bluffton coming out of sectional 27, but I could be persuaded. The Flying Jets say, look here. Didn't we talk about this? Wasn't Adam Central, like, in 1A not long ago? Not long ago, buddy. And they have rocketed up.
They went to state four years in a row, finally winning in 2024. That was in Class 2A. How about getting to state three years in a row in 1A, not winning, but then getting into 2A and winning state? Sometimes it'd be like that. Okay. So, the last five years, Adam Central has lost two games, 1-1-1-1. So, my math tells me six losses in six seasons. Okay. Minus this year. Sorry. We're not including this year, but they went to state, state, state, one state, semi-state last year. Dude. The Flying Jets know how to play football. So, six and three. And look, they lost to Eastside by seven, South Adams by five, and Bluffton by eight. They're in the games. Okay. I don't know. I think the Flying Jets have something to say in this sectional. They might do it. Dude. What was the score? 36-28 the first time they played. That's a game that's a toss-up. That's a toss-up, man. Who's going to be ready to go come October 30th? The more and more we go through these, Spang, the more and more I think Parity will prevail. All right. Let's keep rolling. I call that the double P. Parity will prevail. Sectional 28. Oh, what do you got? We've got Mississinewa taking on Hamilton Heights. No easy out there. Okay. Like, this sectional. That's a good matchup. This sectional stared me right in between the eyes here. Then we've got West Lafayette, Northwestern, and we've got Eastbrook and Maconaquah. Eastbrook also no easy out there. Okay. Hamilton Heights lost their first three games of the season, ended the year winning six straight.
So they're hot at the exact right time. So I don't know. This Mississinewa-Hamilton Heights game, Spang, do we have any common opponents here? We got the common opponent merchants here. We love the common opponents. I'm not seeing any, though. No. Benton Central, no. Twin Lakes, no. But Hamilton Heights, man. Hamilton Heights. Oh, my goodness. I don't know, Spang. So here's the thing, Dom. So Hamilton Heights has played, you know, Lapel, where they kind of got ran a little bit. Yep. Then they've played Logansport, also a good team. Yep. And then, again, you just said they've rattled off a bunch in a row. But, you know, they beat Twin Lakes. Yep. 61-28. West Lafayette's not an easy team. Like, I think my gut says that Hamilton Heights is more battle-tested, but Mississinewa's really good. Okay. Their coach is 17-3 in his second year. Yep. Oh, that's a toss-up. I don't know, man. So the winner of that's going to have Western. Western's 3-6. But who should we really be talking about in this sectional? We got to go down and talk about Maconaquah and their matchup with Eastbrook. And their absolute stud of a quarterback, Aiden Robinson, who has been throwing it all over the yard this season. All right. So Maconaquah is undefeated. They're 9-0 at the moment. This is—we've talked about Coach Robbins. This is his first year at the helm. They're undefeated. Yeah. They have really—I mean, not really been in a close one.
I lied. Lewis Cass, they won 44-42. But other than that, they've kind of been running away with that. Their lowest point scored this season was Week 2, 26. They've scored an average of 51 points per game. Spangle, I have to tell you about Aiden Robinson's stats. Okay. Hold on. There's two members of the team we're going to talk about first. Okay. And we're going to round it out with Aiden Robinson. All right. Well, who's Aiden Robinson throwing it to? The senior wide receiver, Nolan Tarrh? Tarr. Tarr? 73 receptions for 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns. What a year. 1,000-yard receiver? We'll take that. You got my attention. I mean, come on now. Then we've got Marcell Sims Jr. He's a senior, but he's got 92 carries for 812 yards, 14 touchdowns. He's also got 55 receptions from the running back spot. He has 1,500 all-purpose yards. Yes, sir. And I wonder if he's back there returning kicks. And 24 touchdowns. But this snakes the cake. I mean, this guy needs to be in the Mr. Football conversation. And he needs to be in there now. 204 completions, 296 attempts. That is a large percentage. Dude, this guy can, what do you say, sling the pill? So he can sling the pill. 3,000 yards, 41 touchdowns to four interceptions. And he's also added five rushing touchdowns. So that is 46 touchdowns. Dude, I might have to get some tape on. I got to get tape. Mr. Aiden Robinson. That's incredible, man. What a season already. 3,000 yards. Mr. 3,000.
He's looking at Eastbrook. Then he's going to have the winner of West Lafayette, Northwestern. By the records, that would be Northwestern. But, again, you never know there. No, you don't. And then they're probably going to have a day. Again, I never sleep on the Huskies. No. They have a good football program there. They've rattled off six in a row. Oh. I'm going battle of the names in the sectional title. Mississinewa and Maconaquah. All right. I think by points scored, I don't know if there's offensive firepower to match those guys. Your defense better pack a lunch. Pack a lunch. Your secondary better be ready to go because Maconaquah can huck it. Wow. I'm excited about Maconaquah. I got to get eyes on Maconaquah. I got to get eyes. All right. I just like saying their name. We move into sectional 29. Whoa. Yeah. Whoa. For Purdue Englewood's 8-1. Dude. People been sleeping on the techies, baby. Purdue Englewood, 8-1. No love in the rankings. No nothing there. But they know how to play football there. The techies. They're going to have Western Boone. Okay. Western Boone, 6-3. Again, Weibo, perennially a very good football team. 6-3. And their three losses. I mean, Tri-West, no shame. Lebanon, a seven-point game. And then Cascade. So, like, Weibo is a good team. They're dominating everybody else, it looks like. Hmm. This is one where, if you're the coach of Western Boone, you're like, records don't matter. They're 8-1. We're 6-3. But this week, we're all 0-0. To your point, Western Boone won three consecutive state championships in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
No ball. He knows ball. Come on now. Going down, we're going to have the Battle of the Three and Sixes. Indianapolis, George Washington versus the North Montgomery Chargers. Again, the winner of that is going to have a date with either Purdue Polytech or Western Boone. By the schedule, I might say Western Boone, but that's a tough one. Yeah, I agree with you. I agree with you there. By the schedule, by strength of schedule, again, what's crazy is Purdue Polytechnic, Englewood, I mean, I don't think they've had an IHSAA program. I don't know if they've been a school for 10 years. They recently got IHSAA approval, I think. Like, in the last five or six years, maybe they've had a football. Like, either way, congrats to them for being 8-1. In 3A. I didn't know there would be a 3A school. In 3A. Like, that's very, very impressive. You just got to have a little magic now that it's the postseason. We're going to have Crawfordsville, the Athenians, squaring off with Tri-West. Sorge. Mr. Jack Sorge. All right. They're 7-2. Need I remind you what Jason Ward told me before the season? What do you say, John? What do you say? He said, if we don't make state championship weekend, it's a fail. Hey, you got a Wisco commit. You've got a quarterback that can win in all three phases. Running the ball, throwing the ball, and receiving the ball. We saw it. I think that they would be the favorite, right, to take down Crawfordsville. You're going to have Speedway, probably. They already, I think, poured it on Speedway earlier this season. Yep. I think it might be looking like Western, Boone, and Tri-West in the sectional finals.
Speedway is in the midst of a six-game losing streak. Oof. Not how you want to enter sectional play. So maybe if you're Heritage Christian, you're like, hey, we can get right right here. Yeah, there you go. Get a win on the season. I will say, Spang, I agree with you. I do think we're looking at a Western, Boone, Tri-West sectional championship. And if that's the case, I think I got to roll with my man Jack. Getting the job done. I think so. And winning a sectional title for Tri-West. I think so. Hey, again, per the coach, not per us. If they don't, it's a failure. Bottom line. All right. Let's keep rolling. We're in sectional 30. We're looking at Lawrenceburg. The one-loss Lawrenceburg Tigers taking on the Newcastle Trojans who are three and six. And you know who Lawrenceburg's one loss is to? East Central. That is correct. First game of the season, 21-0. They rattled off eight straight wins. I think we might be sleeping on Lawrenceburg, buddy. I think we're sleeping on Lawrenceburg.
They're ranked fifth in class 3A. Okay. This sectional looks wide open. Now, Batesville might have something to say about it. Now, I want to know, Dom, where? Okay. So, if Lawrenceburg is number two in the coach's poll, what was their Batesville score earlier? Okay. 28. Or, excuse me. Excuse me. 35-20. The Bulldogs got to be ready to go if they're going to see each other again. Again, Batesville is going to have, they're going to have South Dearborn. They should win that game. They might have already played once this year also. Can we confirm or deny? I'm wondering if Batesville is being slept on a bit. Okay. So, Batesville beat South Dearborn earlier this season, 48-0. So, they should get through that game. Then they're going to have probably Franklin County. Yeah. I would assume. Who they beat 35-20 earlier in the season. Mm-hmm. And then it's a matter of Lawrenceburg. And that's a rematch where they lost by, I mean, that's not an insurmountable margin there. No. Of that Batesville. 15 points. And then, dude, what you forget is Batesville is also a one-point win over Milan. That's correct. That's a tight window in there between. 1A and 3A. Between 1A and 3A, Dom. Mania. Who do you have coming out of there? I got to give it to Lawrenceburg. And I'm really interested to see Lawrenceburg and a potential Tri-West regional. Oh. Because that's where it's like Tri-West hasn't been tested much. And when they do get tested, they don't seem to get it done.
Mm-hmm. So, what's the real situation here? My gut says it's tough to beat a team twice and don't sleep on the Batesville Bulldogs, man. I would not sleep on Batesville at all. Mm-hmm. I mean, why not them? Why not them? A fun fact. I don't believe Batesville has any team IHSAA state championships. Really? I believe they have individuals that have won and competed well at state. I believe the math says they have not won a state championship as a team. This could be the year. Why not now? Why not us? Yes, sir. All right. You want to go to sectional 31? Let's go to sectional 31. All right. We've got the Mustangs of Edgewood versus the Alices of Vincennes Lincoln. We've got Owen Valley versus Sullivan. We've got Washington versus Scottsburg. Now, Dom, the winner of this Edgewood-Lincoln game is going to have a date with the undefeated Braves of Indian Creek. And we know all about Indian Creek on this podcast. Yeah, you do, specifically. Well, I want to talk about Hunter Worley, who has 39 receptions for 764 yards and 12 touchdowns. Okay. Also, how about Grady Walker? 93 tackles, two tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries. And oh, by the way, he has one reception for nine yards and a touchdown. I love that. On the season. I mean, that had to be a- Look, Indian Creek, they got past Tri-West. And from there, it was barbecued chicken a little bit. Wait, what was the score of the Tri-West game? 19-12. Oh.
So Indian Creek, look, you're the favorites in this sectional, all right? And we'll get to it in a second. But then when regional comes, that's when it gets really like, are we for real Indian Creek? Because they'd have potentially Evansville Memorial. Oh, and that brings us perfectly, perfectly into the next sectional, the final 3A1. This is interesting, Spang. This is an interesting sectional. I mean, we got Gibson Southern, Evansville Memorial, Mater Dei as well. Yeah. And it's kind of, I'll say top heavy, dude. Like, so you got Southridge, who's 5-4. They're taking on Gibson Southern. Yep. So is that a game that we've seen already? Is that a matchup that we have seen? Yes. 43-21 Gibson Southern beat Southridge earlier in the season. What is that? That a 22-point margin. 22-point game. All right. You're hoping that Hart and the boys get it done at Gibson Southern there. Then you're going to have, I mean, I believe Memorial will beat the 1-8 North Harrison Cougars. So we're probably going to be seeing Gibson Southern and Evansville Memorial. And that is a game we have not seen. So that is where it gets really interesting. Remember the pulse. Nick Hart leading the charge for Gibson Southern. And I got to tell you, there's not many resumes I like more than Evansville Memorials this season. Wins over Mater Dei. Wins over Reitz. Wins over Floyd Central and Castle. You want to talk about being battle-tested? Now, here's a question, though. Okay.
So Gibson Southern loses to Floyd Central. First game of the season, 24-31. Seven-point game. If memory serves me, Dominic, that game was Floyd Central, the Highlanders, lost to Evansville Memorial, 34-28. Correct. By the transitive property, we could be in for a heck of a matchup. And I think I remember. Yeah. Floyd Central was off to the races early in that game. Wait. Yes. Okay. Thank you, Spang. This is when the transitive property is useful. Floyd Central beat Gibson Southern by seven, lost to Memorial by six. Both close games. Like you said, Floyd Central winning a majority of that game. So this Gibson Southern Memorial potential sectional semifinal matchup, that is a massive, massive game. And you have, now, Mater Dei did get ran pretty tough by Memorial 52-21. Yeah. So my gut says that that is our, the next weekend, assuming both teams win. Yeah. And we have Memorial and we have Gibson Southern, circle that game. Yeah. That's going to be one to watch out for. Mater Dei probably runs it out on the bottom. And, I mean, I would say if you are Mater Dei, have they played Gibson Southern? I don't believe so. You're probably hoping for a Gibson Southern victory.
Yeah. Just a little change up. Let them do the, let them do some of the dirty work there and you get a fresh shot at Gibson Southern. I am so excited for a potential Gibson Southern Memorial matchup. Yeah. My gut says Evansville Memorial is going to be tough to beat at this class. Dom, let me tell you about undefeated Evansville Memorial. First off, we got to say there are some absolute yardage. There's some serious yardage being put up by Luke Brown, the senior quarterback. He's thrown the ball 197 times, connected 125 of those for 1,846 yards and 16 touchdowns. He's also carried the ball for another two touchdowns on that. Guy's responsible for 18 of them. His buddy Gene. Hey, Mo. His buddy Gene, the running back, has got 98 carries. For 832 yards and 12 touchdown. And DeAndre Fellows, the junior wide receivers, got 45 receptions for 497 and five TDs. Talented fellow. Yeah. This is also where, talented fellow. Good one. Thank you. This is also where Mick Blake. Oh, yeah. The grandson of legendary reporter Mike Blake goes. Yes. My final four. Oh. Oh, man. We already made it through three. How about that? My final four on that. Yeah, okay. Yeah, what you got? What you got? I think I'm going with the returning state champions, Andrean. I'm going Bluffton. I'm keeping my Batesville Bulldogs alive because I picked this with my heart, not necessarily with the data. Because, again, this is October. This is postseason football. And I'm choosing Evansville Memorial.
And I think that's where the Batesville Cinderella round might come to an end. Memorial is going to run the table. So we have three differences. Oh. My semi-states are Griffith versus Maconaquah. Mm-hmm. And Lawrenceburg versus Evansville Memorial. And I have Evansville Memorial beating Maconaquah in the state championship in a game that there might be 100-plus points scored. I mean, Memorial and Maconaquah, I would love, I would love, I would love that. That'd be pretty cool. He's seen Aiden Robinson. But I got to tell you, Spang, you opened my eyes a little bit. Like, we're talking Bluffton has a chance for sure. Gibson Southern has a chance. Andrean? We're sleeping on Andrean. I'm giving the late momentum to Griffith, but Andrean is really, really good. Yeah. They're a tough one, dude. Man, that's 3A's tough. 3A's good. It's time for our 4A into 4A. All right. We're going to go through 4A. We got this. What do you say, Spang? Let's start in sectional 17 up in the regional area. Let's start in sectional 17 up in the region. We've got the Governors of Hammond Morton. They're 5-4. They're taking on Hanover Central. Gary Westside versus Lowell. East Chicago Central versus Kankakee Valley, who have yet to find a win this season. We've got Highland, who's 2-7 versus Hobart. Okay. So right off the rip, first of all, I just want to say this is my favorite class to dissect. This class is... 4A's going to be wild. Yes. All right. Looking at this, I got to go with the Red Devils of Lowell.
Yep. 6-3. They already have played Hobart. That's who they would potentially play in a sectional championship. What was the score of that game? The score of that game, Mr. Spangle, was 41-26 in favor of Lowell. Okay. I also have Lowell out to win sectionals in advance to the regional. Okay. So I have East Chicago Central, getting it done, Kankakee Valley. Keep your boys out. Get them to come back out again next year. Give it a good try. Gold college try. This is an interesting sectional. It's not like no team is jumping off the page, but if you dive in deeper... Who are Lowell's three losses to? I'm so happy you asked. Crown Point to start the season, 42-7. We know all about Crown Point. Griffith, 36-28. That was a close game. Yeah. Okay. And then Andrean, 21-7. Look, aside from Crown Point, these were close, stones-throw type of games, and we know how good Andrean's defense is. I got to tell you, Lowell, don't sleep on the Red Devils. Yeah. I have the Red Devils winning the sectional. I believe, though, oh, man, wasn't the Hammond Morton quarterback? He had that one game where he threw for 548. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amari Price. Yep. Yeah, buddy. Amari Price is kind of that guy. So hopefully they come out firing there, and Hammond Morton can... I mean, they're going to have a tough game against Hanover Central. Again, he's only got three losses. They're really good. Like, oh, man, it gets tough there in some of those, you know, those 6-3, 5-4 type games.
But I do think that Lowell will be who ends up on the sectional championship and hoists the trophy at the end of it. I think that is an accurate depiction of what may happen. We'll go to sectional 18? I want to go to sectional 18. This is a home sectional for yours truly. Oh. All right, this is some teams who have some metal to them, Spang. Okay? We got some Mishawaka cavemen at 6-3. Only losses to Penn, Warsaw, and Northridge. Penn and Warsaw were pretty lopsided, but they only lost to Northridge by 3. And Northridge is in this sectional. They play each other. In fact, they play each other. What is going on right now? They play each other. I didn't even see that. Can they avenge a three-point loss? Wait a minute, Spang. This game was at home for Mishawaka when they played in the regular season. Tough place to play. Certainly. This game in sectionals at Northridge. I want to talk about Northridge's QB because my sources in northern Indiana have said a lot of glowing things about this young man. 2,084 yards throwing the ball, 23 touchdowns, just six interceptions. Also, almost 800 yards rushing the football, 19 touchdowns. So he's responsible for almost 3,000 yards and 42 total touchdowns. He's just a sophomore. And I'm told he could be a D1 guy. He's a real player. So who's his favorite target? I mean, I think it's this. Is it Kavantre? Yeah. Kavantre Copeland, senior wide receiver. He's got 40 receptions for 730 yards. I don't know what that average is, but that's pretty good. That is pretty good. And he's got nine touchdowns.
He's also got 24 tackles on the year. Or, I mean, he also likes the Hayden Gore ball. 18 receptions, 291, two touchdowns, 52 tackles. These guys are playing both ways. Northridge is tested. Okay. I think just by the map, though, he has 117 completions and 40s to one guy, 18s to another. I mean, that means their other half is getting spread out through other receivers. 100%. And look at this. Northridge, it's about winning one possession games. They beat Columbia City by one point. They beat Mishawaka by three points. They beat Warsaw by seven. Those are three really solid teams. They beat West Noble by 30. Northridge is battle tested, but this is going to be a knockdown drag out. Yeah. I mean, you hit the home turf this time. Can you extend a three-point victory? Or does Mishawaka say, hold on, not so fast. We're going to get the job done. McCabe been going to keep the season alive. A huge upset. Well, actually, do you even call it an upset? Yeah. It's an NLC battle. Dude, but here's the thing. Mishawaka got ran by Warsaw and Northridge beat Warsaw. This would be a huge upset. You're absolutely right, Spain. That's a great call right there. And I got to tell you something. The winner of that game most likely plays an 8-1 South Bend St. Joe team. How about this sectional right now, sectional 18? South Bend St. Joe, the Huskies up there. Again, there's no easy outs. No. This is going to be a tough one.
They did get beat by Penn, and that win streak continued for the Kingsmen. But I don't know, man. Interesting brackets, man, because it's very top-heavy. Did St. Joe play Mishawaka? St. Joe did not play Mishawaka. They played Mishawaka Marian. St. Joe's only loss was last week against Penn. We talked about it at the top. But, I mean, we're talking the three best teams in the sectional will all play each other probably in the first two weeks of sectional. Like, that's crazy. Because then the bottom, you've got a 2-7 Plymouth going up against Northwood 5-4. Culver Academy 5-4. New Prairie 2-7. So, selfishly, I have to say Northwood's going to get this thing done. Okay? Northwood's going to get to the sectional title. But you're going to have Mishawaka, Northridge, or St. Joe waiting for you. Good luck. I mean, Spang, you could tell me that Mishawaka, Northridge, or South Bend St. Joe will win this sectional, and I'd believe you. Yeah. And how far would you have them going after that? Far. I mean, you could tell me that one of those three teams found themselves in the semi-state, and I would agree with you. Yep, 100%, Spang. 100% to what you're saying right there. Wow. You are not wrong. So, who does your gut say? My gut says Northridge. They're battle-tested. They've won the big games. They took down Warsaw. But it won't be easy. I almost think a Northridge-St. Joe matchup would be more interesting than Northridge-Mishawaka. And I even say that knowing Mishawaka only lost by three. Yeah. So, I got to see it, but this is a sectional I got my eye on in Class 4A in the northern part of the state, Spang. I think we're both rolling with Northridge.
I'm going to throw the Panthers a bone. We're going to go Northridge-Northwood, a sectional title, and Northridge gets it done. That would hurt. That hurt to say. You know, you just got to separate emotion in these situations. Yeah. And, dude, hey, one thing I know is that Coach Andrews, he's going to look his team in the eye, shake their hand with a heck of a grip, and get them boys ready to roll. I got to tell you, Spang, it doesn't get any easier in sectional 19. This sectional is loaded as well. You got a team like DeKalb, who's 6-3, but they're also battle-tested. A four-point loss to East Noble, a one-point loss to Columbia City, and a three-point double overtime loss to Huntington North. That means that is five, eight points. Three losses by eight points away from a perfect regular season. Yeah, dude. DeKalb is good. The Barons. Dude. They're going to be ready to go. They're probably going to have Dwenger. If I had to imagine, you're going to see DeKalb, Dwenger. Have they played this season? They have not played this season. Okay. Yeah, we think that DeKalb's going to get past New Haven, and then we think Dwenger's going to get past Northside. Okay? So, Dwenger's 8-1. Their only loss is to Carroll, a 6-8 team up there in Fort Wayne. Yeah. But, man, a Bishop-Dwenger-DeKalb matchup, that gets me out of bed. Mm-hmm. Now, we've got Columbia City on the bottom side with more than likely East Noble, but Leo's also good. Who are Leo's losses to? Okay, how about this? These teams have all seen each other, okay? Columbia City and East Noble already played. East Noble won by 21, 42-21. And Columbia City beat Leo just a couple weeks back, 49-28.
All right. So, we're going to see. Has Columbia City played East Noble? Yeah, that's what I just said. They lost by 21. All right. The East Noble Knights, baby. So, we're going to see East Noble, more than likely Dwenger. But I don't think they've matched up yet. No. Wow. So, that is – the winner of that, like, you know how we just said, semi-state, North semi-state for the sectional 18? I'm thinking North semi-state for sectional 19 as well, unless I'm an idiot and they match up. Well, you're forgetting someone. You're forgetting someone, Dominic. We do need to talk, though, I mean, about this East Noble team before we get into the bottom side of that. Yeah. Because there are a lot, a lot of undefeated teams. But East Noble is one of them, led by senior wide receiver defensive back Alex Scott and sophomore running back middle linebacker Austin Phillips. Now, Alex Scott, he's got 29 receptions for 521 yards, five touchdowns. He's also got five picks on the year. I mean, that guy. I've heard of this Austin Phillips character, too, a lot. Yeah, 111 carries for 902 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns. And at the middle linebacker spot, he's got 92 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, and two sacks. Remember, we said 90 tackles. We're paying attention to you for sure. East Noble's unbeaten. They're a good team. But, like, this is where the boys and the men are separated, folks. All right? Like, this is going to be a really interesting matchup between East Noble and Dwenger, potentially.
I mean, those are two sectionals right there, 18 and 19, Spang, that I am supremely intrigued by. Yes, sir. We keep rolling because we have more undefeated teams. Sectional 20, we're going to have Delta versus Logansport. Delta's 4 and 5. Logansport undefeated 9 and 0. We've got the 1 and 8 Marion Giants versus Jay County. Four wins between the two of them. We've got Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. They're 2 and 7. Yorktown's 5 and 4. That's going to be a good matchup. Then we've got Muncie Central versus Kokomo. Dom, I got to say, I think Logansport's in a pretty good spot here. I think they're looking pretty good in this sectional. I have been told that we shouldn't sleep on Muncie Central. That's what I'm being told. Oh, you're getting that? Via TikTok comments. Oh. Well, here's the thing, Dom. Logansport, I want to dive into them because they are one of our undefeated teams. Yep. Logansport has some just absolute athletes that I'm looking at here. Kind of like Elliott Baldini. Elliott Baldini has got 105 carries for 968 and 11 touchdowns. He is complimented by his friend Carson Jackson, who's got 59 carries for 746 and 14 touchdowns. So Carson's around the end zone even more than Elliott has. And I mean, let's not forget Jackson Walker. Dude, yes. Talk about Jackson Walker. We're looking at 2,100, 2,200 rushing yards between three guys. Yep. And they're splitting it, like six rushing touchdowns for Jackson. He's got three receiving touchdowns.
But this peaks my fancy. On the defensive side of the ball, Carson Jackson. 1-1-1. 111 solo tackles, 17 tackles for loss and a sack. Wow. Look at that guy go. Jackson Walker also 36 tackles, three INTs and two fumble recoveries. Come on now. Okay. So Logansport runs the football. Logansport says. And they play some good defense. RTB, buddy. Run the damn ball. Oh, come on. I think that we're going to see Yorktown, potentially Muncie Central. Have they played yet? I got to tell you, Logansport has not had a close game either. I mean, they're rolling, folks. Has Muncie Central played Yorktown? They did. And Yorktown won 24 to 7. Oh, I mean, that could be one that's flipped, buddy. So I'm looking at a potential Logansport Yorktown sectional championship here. And I think this is Logansport. This has got the berries written all over it. Haven't gone, you know, second year under Troy Hudson. He wants a sectional title. I imagine he wants more. Dom, let's keep it rolling with sectional 21. We're going to have Shortridge at 6-3 taking on the Braves of Brebeuf Jesuit. Brebeuf's had an interesting season, Spang. Like, they're just kind of right here, you know? What did Nick Morosis always used to say? Otis Elevator. I used that earlier on. Are you going to be, or what was it? Are you going to be, sorry, what was it? Are you going to be Otis Elevator? Oh, Steady Eddie? Steady Eddie or Otis Elevator. Yeah. Coach Nick, what a guy.
We're then going to have Danville, they're 9-0, taking on Lebanon. We got Chatard at 7-2, taking on Guerin Catholic at 3-6. And we have Frankfort, the defeated hot dogs, taking on Northview, who's 8-1. The Frankfort hot dogs are 0-9. Sad. Oh, man. And they lost at OT last week to Crawfordsville. So that's got to sting. Oh, OT? Dang, man. First win was in the sights. Okay, so this is interesting, Spang, because Northview, remember, we started to give Northview some love, and then they just got throttled by Southputt. Dude, Southputt's good. I mean, I guess there's no shame in that. But look, if you're 4A, Northview, you got to be looking at this like, okay, we could play Chatard, potentially. We could play Danville. Like, we got to see if we're up to snuff here. So... Mm-hmm. I think that... I don't know. What's... Who's Brebeuf's wins against? Yeah. So, like I said, they beat Guerin. Guerin's down. They beat Scecina. They beat Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon's the team that's gotten a lot better. They beat Columbus North. Got to give them some credit there. 32-29. They beat Ritter. Got smoked by Bloomington-Smouth. Got smoked by Roncalli-Chatard. Lost by five to North Central. So, like, these aren't bad losses, but there seems to be a clear disconnect here. Yeah, and when we look at Shortridge, what's their schedule look like? Shortridge is 6-3, Spang. Mm-hmm. They've won four in a row. So, look. Shortridge, Brebeuf. Like, I'm probably going to go with Brebeuf here, Spang. Danville-Lebanon is interesting. I don't want you to let the 4-5 Lebanon record fool you, okay?
These two teams actually played, and Danville won by 14, 28-14, back on September 18th. Again, Spang, I think you and I would both agree, if you're within two scores, anything can happen in the tournament. That's a result that you can flip. I will say Danville is very good at football. They're really good. I've enjoyed watching them play. They are one of our unbeatens, Mr. Spang. So, why don't we talk about them? Yeah. Danville High School. I mean, the Warriors are having a great season. Yeah. They've got Carter Ward at QB. He's got 82 completions on the year for 1,300 yards, 21 touchdowns, and only one interception. That tells me they don't have to throw all that much. They're smoking teams. Yeah. And, you know what? I mean, that's because Dayton Hood has 138 carries for 855 and 15 touchdowns. That's right. Mason Shipley's got 375 receiving yards and four TDs. Danville's flying under the radar. This is going to be a huge test, Spang, because I would just absolutely love to see a Danville Chatard and see, like, Danville's got to be like, look, are we for real? And, you know, we just got done talking to Kyle Neddenriep not too long ago. And he, I told him to just, you got to pick a team in 4A. Who is it? And he went with Chatard. Wow. Kyle's on the Trojans, baby. Dude, they're good. I mean, before pre-Danny Adams injury, they looked ridiculous. And then they weathered the storm without him. And then, however, we did find out that the Guidry brothers are battling some injuries. Yeah. And some health.
You know, we want them to heal up, make sure everything's good there. I think one is done. Yes. The ACL tear, though, too. Did you see this? Yeah, I saw that. Yeah, so. So, I mean, that's adversity. But those are big-time players. Big-time players that have had a heck of a season. Oh, man. Obviously, what was Jax filling in while Danny was out? Like, he had a heck, like, an all-star season. Like, that stretch without Danny Adams, Jax went hard. And Jagger, man, on defense is so good. I would not want to get hit by that guy. No. So, this is an interesting sectional spank that I have a feeling is trending towards Danville and Chatard. I gotta go with Chatard. Look, I have a lot of respect for Danville. And I, that, look, that would be a humongous, humongous program-shifting dub for Danville. Danville. Getting it done over Chatard. But, hey, look, we'll see on November 6th. Well, I mean, we're gonna find out. Hey, keep the main thing the main thing. Win one game at a time. Yeah. We're, we are a media program, but I just remember the coaches said, don't get caught in the media. Don't get caught thinking about a sectional title that you forget to win the first round of sectionals. All that is, is rat poison. It's rat poison. Is that what, wait, is that what? That's what we are. Not us. We're rat poison. Not us, though. We got coaches probably putting us up on a projector and said, they don't respect you. Yeah. Dude, you are, you are for sure all over the Lebanon locker room. They just like, hey, this guy, he doesn't believe in you. Oh, I did say, don't let the four and five record fool you. Lebanon's solid. They went into OT with Pendleton Heights to start the season, lost that game.
But like, look, there are teams that are four and five that have been more tested than some eight and eight, nine and O teams. Yeah. Okay. So, I mean, hey, Don, what's your record in sectional? Mine? No, it's everyone's. Oh, oh, no. What does that even mean? I don't know. I'm quoting movies now. He's got the movie quotes coming on because we're going on like three hours of a podcast here. Yeah. I got here. It's my first day out here. Come on. Okay. Sectional 22. We got Martinsville in Mooresville. We got Beech Grove in Richmond. Roncalli in Connersville. Crispus Attucks in Greenwood. On paper, this says, you know, this is Roncalli sectional to lose. We know what Sam Otley's group is capable of. No doubt about it. They've won six in a row. They're feeling frisky about themselves and they absolutely should, especially after beating East Central last week. 28 to 10. You know, how cool is it that we've had Roncalli and Chatard play each other? We have East Central and Roncalli playing each other. We had East Central and New Pal playing each other. Just really interesting stuff. Yeah. And I mean, we're looking at their biggest opponent on paper. Who? Beech Grove, probably? Question mark. Mooresville? Question mark. Again, I think you're right in the statement. Again, postseason, anything can happen, but it does appear that this would be Roncalli sectional to lose, which is good because I mean, I feel like it used to be when they were both down at 3A. It would be like Chatard, Roncalli in the sectional finals. Yeah. It was that way for many years.
Yes. So this is nice to get some separation there. But yeah, I got to just say, Spang, you know, Mooresville's had a very respectable season under first year head coach Casey Gillen. But I will say. Well, okay. Hold on. Hold the phone here. So Mooresville's looking at four losses. Plainfield by 13. Yep. Bloomington North by. 19. Decatur Central. Oh, Decatur Central. Yeah. I mean, that's again, that's a 6A team. And then Whiteland. In 4A ball, they're playing pretty well. The best win for Mooresville, certainly, in my opinion, would be Franklin. The way they played in that game was very, very impressive. Franklin was ranked at the time. Don't count out the Pioneers. It's a great day to be a Pioneer. Defending Spirit of War champs. All right. Don't you forget it. All right. Moving into 23.
Oh, boy. We've got the Cubs of Madison Consolidated taking on the Trojans of East Central. The winner of that has a reservation with Jennings County, who's 2-7. Then we look at Charlestown down south on the river. They're a sneaky 8-1, Dom. I don't know if we've talked about Charlestown enough on the program. I don't think so. Only lost to Brownstown Central, 42-7. But beating everyone they play. Look, I'm wearing a Notre Dame quarter zip right now. It's not about who you play. It's about beating who you play. Beating who's lined up from across from you. All right. Yep. Also looking through that one, we've got 6-3 Silver Creek. They're going to play Shelbyville, the Battle of Six and Threes. Oh, man. Columbus East, man. They're pretty good. Columbus East is 5-4. First-year head coach, Tyler Campbell. Again, kind of an up-and-down season. When they've been tested, haven't fared well. Okay. Lost to Mooresville. Lost to Chatard, 42-0. Lost to Floyd Central by 20. So we'll see. But look, you're not playing Chatard in your sectional. All right? You've got Charlestown. You've got potentially Shelbyville or Silver Creek. But East Central probably licking their chops here. They're probably not pleased about losing to Roncalli that way last week. What does your gut say? What does your gut say on this one? My gut tells me East Central's winning this sectional. My gut says East Central. Who are they going to have? In the regional? In the sectional finals. That. I might go. I don't have enough intel on Charlestown. So I can't, without a shadow of a doubt, say it's going to be the 7-1 versus the 7-2 there.
But what I can tell you for fact is I think East Central's winning this sectional. Yeah. My gut says it's going to be Columbus East. And we're going to see Columbus East taking on East Central. Okay. No disrespect to my friends at Charlestown. Shelbyville, Silver Creek. Again, 6-3. Win the game ahead of you. But, I don't know. Battle tested. Being in tough games. I always love it when you come in battle tested to have a good regular season. Yeah. Columbus East has played tough opponents. There you have it. All right. Let's move to sectional 24. We got Bedford North Lawrence playing Central. We got Boonville and Harrison. Evansville Reitz. We haven't forgotten about you. Boss against Bossy. And then Heritage Hills and Jasper. Okay. Heritage Hills is a team that I feel like has slipped with the cracks on this podcast. All right. Heritage Hills is ranked 11th there in 4A. Their only two losses was to Owensboro Apollo out of Kentucky by a point. And Gibson Southern by 7. So, let me talk to you about Heritage Hills here in Kevin Temple's first year. They're 7-2. But, they're not a team I'd like to play. Yeah, man. And they beat North Posey by a lot. And that's taken over after Coach Wilkerson had been there for, oh man, a slew of years. Going back all the way to, holy cannoli. Going back all the way to 2012. So, big shoes to fill. Obviously, with Coach Wilkerson there. Oh my gosh. Yeah, he has a lot of wins stacked up. I am eyeing this potential semifinal between Evansville Reitz and Heritage Hills.
Did they play this season? They did not. And, you know, we talked a lot about transitive property. Big transitive property podcast here. Evansville Reitz in Heritage Hills. Heritage Hills lost to Floyd Central by 10. Excuse me. I'm sorry. I messed that up. Heritage Hills lost to Gibson Southern by only 7. Okay. Gibson Southern lost to Floyd Central by only 7. Floyd Central lost to Evansville Memorial by only 6. Oh gosh. And Evansville Memorial beat Reitz by only 3. So, this is what I have to tell you with all that being said. Evansville Reitz Heritage Hills, I think, could be a really good football game. I mean, dude, I got lost a little bit in there. I won't lie. But I see what you're saying. It's competitive. It's competitive, I think, for sure. What do we think about the stars here? But, hey, you're forgetting that Heritage Hills has to get by one third of the pulse. He's got a heart to play. He has. Is it Trump? We're playing Euchre, right? Come on. Look at you. Your jokes have been good. I'm on it, right? Jasper. Can Jasper make a run here under Derek Hart? My gut says. What's your gut telling? My gut says we're going to see Boonville? Question mark? Okay. My gut tells. Okay. Yes. My gut says Boonville on the top and Reitz on the bottom. But I think that it's a knockdown, drag out, dog fight between Heritage Hills and Reitz. And that's going to be a game I want to watch. I'm very excited. Okay. I got to give a shout out to the southern part of the state. They've been having an awesome.
Yeah. The Evansville area. Well, even all the way over to Louisville, right? Yeah. That whole southern corridor. They're playing good football. Like Lawrenceburg over there. That's like southeastern Indiana. Yeah. I'm saying they're playing good football south of the Donut Counties. A hundred percent. South of 465. There's good football being played. We see you, Evansville. All right. So I think the winner of Evansville Reitz Heritage Hills wins this sectional. I'm really excited about that game. Spangle, that gets us to kind of regionals. And I want to tell you some regional matchups here in 4A that we could have staring down the barrel. You ready for this? Let's hear them. How about Lowell and Northridge? Yep. Okay. I'm riding the Northridge train. Yeah. I know. You're all, which is crazy. It's kind of weird. An old NLC guy. Well, yeah. I get it for the conference, you know? Yep. How about Dwenger and Logansport? I mean, the berries have been really, really good. I know. But Fort Wayne, Bishop, Dwenger is, they're unreal. They're the standard, right? And then we'd get a Chatard Roncalli regional. Oh. Oh, man. Chatard, it's tough to beat a team twice, but they poured it on them. And then how about East Central Reitz? Oh, gosh. Listen to those matchups, Spank. Northridge, Lowell. This is regionals. Northridge, Lowell, Dwenger, Logansport, Chatard, Roncalli, East Central Reitz. Are you kidding me right now? Two. And that's not even, that's having teams knocked out like Danville. That's having teams knocked out like East Noble. Yeah. Like, what are we talking about here? Dude. Oh, man. East Noble. They haven't been beaten this year. I know. Danville's putting up numbers. But wait, which East Noble is in, sorry, why did we have them losing?
Why am I not remembering? Because they're getting beat by Dwenger. Ah, see, that's tough. And then you got like St. Joe. St. Joe and Northridge in the same sectional. Okay. You got, don't forget about DeKalb, Columbia City, Dwenger, East Noble, all in the same sectional. Are you kidding me? By the coaches poll, we've got Dwenger, Chatard, East Noble, Roncalli, East Central, Danville, Northridge, Reitz, South Bend, St. Joe, Logansport, Columbia City. Unreal. If we start at Logansport and go up, no disrespect to Columbia City, that's, those are some good football teams. Dude, that's what I'm telling you. Okay. What's the highest ranked? I mean, East Noble is ranked third and they have the number one team in the sectional finals. That's what I'm saying. That's a 3v1 sectional final. That's where, I don't know what they cost for an IHSAA sectional ticket. 10 bucks. That's worth the price of admission right there. I'd say so. Holy cannoli. Get yourself some popcorn, hot chocolate. At the end of the day, Dom. And some Tums. At the end of the day. Wait, I'm going to rattle off these regionals and I want you to tell me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. Northridge and Lowell. Northridge. Yep. Dwenger and Logansport. It pains me. I, my heart, my heart wants the berries to go. My heart wants the berries to go. I know. But I, I, after seeing Dwenger season, I got to go Dwenger. Okay. Chatard and Roncalli. Doesn't get easier. Gotta go Chatard. All right, dude. Come on. Hey, by the way, Dom Kroemer solidified himself as QB.
He's a starter. It's his, not his job to lose. It's his job. He won it, baby. He will be the QB going through. But I'm going to take the Trojans, man. All right. They are really, really good. There's something in the water on Crittenden Ave and they are good at football over there, buddy. 100%. I think that the Trojans, they get the job done there. I think it's going to be, I mean, I would like to be at that game. That seems like a great game to be at. What about East Central Evansville Reitz? If you would have asked me a month ago. Yeah. East Central by a landslide. I know. But after my trip to Evansville, Reitz is really good. I'm still going to take the Trojans of East Central. Okay. But again, that's another one where like, I need like quad box all four of these games happening at one time. All right. How about in the semi-state in the northern part of the state, Northridge and Fort Wayne Dwenger? Now, this is where I think things go private school and private school versus private school matchup in the state finals. I've got Dwenger and I've got Chatard and I've got the Chatard Trojans getting the job done and winning a 4A state title. I have the exact same. Wow. I think the East Central, I mean, again, keep the main thing, the main thing, win one game at a time. The only way to win a state title is to win it one game at a time, one play at a time. But I see Chatard getting it done as their first, I believe this would be their first ever 4A state championship. That's what esteemed alumni Brooks Hepp told us. Also, that would be Dwenger's second consecutive trip to the 4A state championship. And they would be denied, according to Mr. Spangle.
Dwenger under Jason Garrett, no, not the Cowboys former coach, but he's would be going for his third state title in his tenure, a very, very successful tenure class for a just gear up Indiana because that's happening. I mean, we could like draw those names out of a hat and there's just good football for a, all right, buddy. I guess we're into class 5A. Let's head on up to sectional nine. Okay. Remember there is only one 5A matchup in the first week of sectionals and one 6A matchup in the first week of sectionals. Everyone else is on by due to the low amount of teams in both those classes. Got you. So we'll head on up to sectional nine. So the only week one game we're going to see at 5A is Greenfield Central and Mount Vernon. That is correct. Okay. And the winner of that is going to play, congrats. Hey, here's your prize. You get Indianapolis Cathedral, but we're going to start nine. I won't get ahead of myself there. Sectional nine. We've got Munster playing Hammond Central. I believe Munster at four and five. They've been in some dogfights this year. They're going to, I believe they're going to, they're who I have in this bracket. And then you have Chesterton in Michigan City. So you have four and five versus one and seven and four and five versus one and eight. So who's winning this sectional? You got, you got Munster. My records point towards the Trojans of Chesterton are going to get the job done there. We have a common opponent alert. Oh. Munster lost to Hobart 63 to 21. Chesterton lost to Hobart 33 to zero. I don't know if that tells us much.
63 to 21 and 33 to zero. Hey, I'm taking the team that scored three points or scored three touchdowns. Who was that? That was Munster. Oh. Then I might be flipping. This is a toss up. Sectional nine region rats. That's a, that's a toss up. But were they, what are they garbage time touchdowns? I don't know. We have no idea. We have truly do not take our word for it. We don't know. Uh, off of, I have Chesterton. Vibes. Okay. Off of Vibes, run Chesterton there. Uh, we go into sectional 10. We know this one pretty well though, Dom. This is Concord at Adams and we have Goshen at LaPorte. All right. Kai of Concord winning this section. They're going to get past Adams and then Goshen LaPorte flip a coin. We'll see what happens. Yeah. Shout out to Griffin Heckman. First year head coach of Goshen did get two dubs there. We do appreciate that out of you, sir. So, I mean, that's big of you picking Concord. Hey, look, I'm an NLC guy. Okay. You can take the guy out of the NLC. You can't take the NLC out of the guy. All right. Uh, keep going down. Now, here we go. South side versus Snider. You've got Fort Wayne Wayne. Name that mascot. The Comets. You could go save some money. Go to the general and save some time. Generals. The generals. There you go. And we've got Warsaw. Again, this one's going to be all Warsaw for me. Warsaw is not happy about not winning the NLC. I can say I'm pretty good authority. Um, eight and one. Bart Curtis. He got to state with the Tigers, uh, back in 2024 where they fell to new pal. I have a feeling Warsaw gets back this season and it starts with winning section 11 Spain.
Yes, sir. I, uh, I'm all in on the Tigers. I think they will be making a heck of a run and, uh, I'm excited to follow throughout the season here or throughout the postseason here. Yeah. Um, I, again, it's like three and six South side, five and four Snider, one and eight Wayne. I do think it's going to be, I do think it's going to be a Snider Warsaw sectional championship. And look, how about this? These two teams played the first game of the season. What was the score? 33 30 Warsaw got it done. So wait a minute. Everyone hold the phone for a hot second. We went Warsaw without even checking the tape here. That's a three point game. Now, again, that was back on August 21st. A lot has happened and you can't say Snider's not tested. I mean, they've played Fort Wayne Carroll. They've played Homestead. They've played Dwenger. So like. That's a battle test to Snider Panther. But both these teams, they played and Warsaw won. So we'll see. I think that, uh, it'll end up being good that Warsaw lost to Northridge. Oh yeah. They're locked in now. They're locked. They're locked in. It's not, hey, there's no easy road to Lucas Oil, Dom. There is no easy road. No. I mean, unless you're taking 31. Sorry. They clip that. Uh, all right. Sectional 12. We've got the, we've got Anderson and we've got the Lafayette Jeff. Lafayette Jeff, seven and two Anderson yet to find a win this season. Again, keep your guys on the team. Come back. Keep coming out. Playing football on Friday nights is fun. Yes. Like we are a pro football is fun, sir.
Yes, absolutely. Uh, I think the Jeff's going to get the job done there. Then we've got the McCutcheon Mavs taking on Huntington North. McCutcheon has played Jeff this season and lost 28 to seven. So now there are rumblings and stirrings that there's going to be a little bit of a personnel shakeup for McCutcheon. Um, I believe that there are some players that will not be eligible for the post season due to. Thanks. Extracurriculars. Um, so I'll say this one might be a, uh, again, you would have asked me a couple of weeks ago. I said, we're going to have a Lafayette crosstown rivalry, but I think this is a Huntington North game over McCutcheon. And I think that it's Jeff going to be the sectional champions. Lafayette Jeff is seven and two. They've won seven games in a row. Hey, who are their two losses? I'm so happy you asked. Chatard to start the season 35 to seven and Merrillville in double overtime 56 to 54. Now, let me say this, Dom, please. There is no such thing as a good loss. No, there's no good losses. No, but if there were respectable games that, that gaming is Chatard is going to go down as respectable, even though it's a little bit of a throttle. I'd say the Merrillville game is very respectable. The Merrillville game is respectable. That's a 618. That's really good at football, man. Do not write off Lafayette, Lafayette, Jeff. Don't do it. No, don't do it. I could see them making a little jaunt here and in being alive. I have them in the regional game.
You have Lafayette, Jeff, winning the sectional. I have Lafayette, Jeff, winning the sectional. That is correct. Okay. Well, let's head on down to sectional 13. This is our only featured 5A matchup. Spangle mentioned earlier, Greenfield Central and Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon with a very nice little end to the season here. Three straight wins. Okay. Beat Yorktown, which I think is very significant. I think that's a very nice win to propel you into sectional. However, you got Cathedral, Pendleton Heights, and New Pal in this sectional. Yeah. And Pendleton Heights. Okay. Look, Pendleton Heights' only loss of the season, Spang, was to New Pal. They were up 14-0 in that game. People forget. And they were outscored 38-7 the rest of the way. So, like, New Pal, look. Everyone's going to look at New Pal and be like, what the heck? Three losses. What is wrong with New Pal? Well, they lost to East Central, Roncalli, and IMG. Like, come on. And if memory serves me, the East Central game was the first one where I was like, whoa. Yeah. It made me believe. I think that I went in and believed that East Central was, like, some incredibly insane, amazing, which they are very, very good. But, like, I think that after watching the rest of the season unfold for New Pal, they are a great football program. But, like, they might not be the New Pal we've seen of past. I think that's a fair assessment. But, I don't know. Pendleton Heights can, you know, control that game, keep it their tempo, their speed. Spang, what's everyone's record in the sectional? Zero and zero. That's what it is, man. Yeah. So, it's going to be fun on the day before Halloween.
New Pal in Pendleton Heights. Cathedral has really impressed me this season. Now, that Ben Davis loss still is just so curious to me. Yeah. But, look, they lost to Loyola out of Illinois by 14. They beat St. X. They beat Chatard. They beat Covington Catholic. They beat Akron Hoban out of Ohio. They lost to Trotwood Madison out of Ohio by just seven. Like, Bill Peebles' bunch is clicking, man. Dude, I want to know. Dude, there have been some miles put on the Irish buses this year, man. Absolutely. Holy smokes. They're all over the place. My gut says we're going to see New Pal Cathedral, and I think the Irish are going to get this one done. That was a humongous matchup last year to start sectional. That was the opening matchup. And I think that New Pal won that one, right? That is correct. They won state. Wow. I think that this might be an Irish get right. You've heard of the Irish goodbye. This one is the Irish get right, and I think that Cathedral is going to win sectional 13. You know what's getting lost in all of this is that New Pal is back-to-back state champions. Okay? This is what – like, they are the cream of the crop until proven otherwise. It's true. All right? They are guilty of the state championship until proven innocent. Okay. Sectional 14 here. He's like, that was a thought. That was a something. Oh, we've got – Plainfield and Arsenal Tech. Terre Haute South, Terre Haute North. Terre Haute North, 0-9.
I know the head coach very well. His name is Aaron Edwards. His wife, Aaliyah Edwards, maiden name Blackburn. Great lady. Her mom went to DePauw. Where does this come from? How do you – Well, she was an anchor at WTHI in Terre Haute when I worked there. She's now an anchor at Fox 59. She's a great lady. I got you. Okay. Great lady. So we've got a little crosstown rivalry in Terre Haute. Yeah. And then we've got Tech playing the most peaceful team on the map, the Plainfield Quakers. The Quakers. Who's that quarterback? Bryce Sabance. He's very, very good. Plainfield 7-2. They lost to Franklin Central to start their season and then Decatur Central later on in the year. But beat up everybody else. So, I mean, like, they're a solid, solid team. Tyler Bless is in his fourth year at the school. They have not won sectional under him. So he's – they're ready to rock and roll. And this is the year. This is the year to do it. All right. I believe, again, if everything went to win accordingly, we would see Plainfield taking on south. So you see what I mean when we go through this? And 4A is, like, really hard to pick. Yeah. 5A is kind of like, okay, we kind of like – It's kind of chalk. Yeah. It's kind of chalky. All right. And then sectional 16, Spang. That's where we got Floyd Central and Castle. Well, we got – you skipped 15. Oh, I'm sorry. What did I do? Sectional 15. Oh, my bad. My bad. We got the Grizzly Cubs of Franklin Community taking on – my sneaky favorite, Bloomington South. I don't know if it's that sneaky because they were ranked first in 5A for quite some time. Yeah. They're really good at football.
I guess it's not sneaky. You're right. But, like, they were giving Center Grove all they could handle. And remember what I said? They've made semi-state three years in a row. They've been sniffing around it, man. They've been sniffing. Then we've got – They lost – wait, wait. Bloomington South's only losses were to Ironton out of Ohio and the Center Grove where they played very well. Yeah. So – And then you got Bloomington North and Seymour. My gut says we're going to see a Bloomington-Crosstown matchup. Okay. Between South and North. And if memory serves me, Dominic, how did that game go the first time? Not good for Bloomington North. I believe it was not good for Bloomington North. It was actually the first game of the year and Bloomington South won 44-6. Yep. And I believe we will see the South Panthers crowned champions of Monroe County as well as of Sectional 15. I agree with you. Okay, Sectional 16. We got New Albany and Evansville North, the Huskies. And then we got Floyd Central and Castle. Now, this is interesting, Mr. Spangle. Yeah. Time for a little transitive property. Okay. Floyd Central is 8-1, first of all. Only lost by 6 to Evansville Memorial. We remember how good that game was. Yes. All right. Castle just played Memorial really well but then kind of lost it at the end. Lost their juju at the end. So I think on paper, you know, Floyd Central wins this game. However, I do think it's close for a time being. Yeah. I would say Castle. But historically, if you go back and check, Castle has always played Memorial well.
Oh, okay. I think that there was a thing where that game is usually – this was like maybe the widest margin of victory in quite some time. But they've just played Memorial well. Floyd Central ran out of gas in the Memorial game. Like the halftime Wizard came up big. John Hurley was going crazy. I believe we're going to see Floyd Central get it done. And I think they're going to win sectional 16. Okay. All right. You ready for this thing? Wait, Dom. I have one thing to say. Please. Notice we did not do any undefeated breakdowns on the 5A. Because there are no undefeated teams in 5A? Shut up. There are no undefeated 5A teams. Really? And all season long, we've been talking about how good 4A is, how good 3A is. I mean, again, there's a 3A team, Memorial, who beat Floyd Central. Who's like – And beat Reitz. Like I will say that 3A team would be competitive in this sectional. They would probably – they would win this sectional. Let me ask you something. Yeah. Would Chatard win 5A state championship? Yeah. I think – Well, it would be the cathedral game that came down to the last second field goal. What about Roncalli? What about Dwenger? What about Northridge? You know what I mean? Like I think these teams could absolutely get to the state championship. What would happen if Memorial played cathedral? We're going to find out. Evansville Memorial. We're going to find out. And Indianapolis Cathedral. Yeah. We're going to find – How would we find out? If Floyd – if Floyd Central can go on a run and win state, we'll know that Memorial could have been the outright 5A champion.
I think that's pretty cool. That's pretty interesting. Tell me about the regionals. You guys are probably like, these guys are – what are they smoking right now? All right. We got Chesterton and Concord. That's a lackluster regional. Two 4-5s. Someone – hey, someone's going to have a Cinderella run. Hey, do we see – I might have to change some of my picks. Well, here's the question. I mean, there's – who are you going to change it to? Concord. I have Chesterton beating Concord. I have Concord. So there you go. Give me the Minutemen. They're going to semi-state. Now, wait a minute. This matchup really intrigues me, though. How about Warsaw and Lafayette Jeff in a regional? That could go either way. It could go either way. I believe that Warsaw, under the leadership, the expert tutelage of Bart Curtis is going to be the regional champion. I think they're going to beat Lafayette Jeff, and we're going to see Warsaw against Concord in the semi-state. How about that? Double NLC. And they already played, and I think Warsaw won pretty – actually, I don't know if it was pretty easy. Now, here's a question, Dom. Is this going to be a record book season for Concord? Are they going to be the new green crunch? Don't do that. Come on. Warsaw beat Concord by eight. So, I mean, it wasn't dominating by any stretch. The more I talk about Concord, the more I say they are a dangerous football team. All right. Okay. And then how about this? We got a little – so, Warsaw over Lafayette Jeff, then? Yep. I have that as well. How about Cathedral and Plainfield? I have a hard time going against the Irish. Yeah, same. I think that they are battle-tested through the stretch. Again, you're hitting the nail on the head when you say that the early season Ben Davis loss is baffling.
It's just baffling to me. Baffling. But I think Cathedral will be there, and they're going to be in the semi-state. And when you go south. How about this? Floyd Central, Bloomington South. That's interesting. Give me the Panthers. Dude, no. I got to be on my boys from Floyd Central. Oh. That's – now, that's a really interesting game to me. Yeah. Well, I mean, again, what we just said, if Floyd Central can win that game and then beat Cathedral and then beat Warsaw, Memorial is kind of your 5A state champion. That's what I'm saying. But I think that Bloomington South is a really good football team. They have experience. They've been around there. On the other side, Cathedral is really hungry. Like, they got beat in sectional last year by New Pal. Like, you know, they don't go every couple of years without making it to state. Like, they are a perennial. But I'm going to pick – Who we got in our state – actually, how about semi-state? Well, Warsaw is probably going to get it. Warsaw and Chesterton or Warsaw and Concord. I think we're going Warsaw there. I think I – I think that Concord will be there, and they're going to give them a good game. Warsaw will win. Okay. And book their ticket down to Lucas Oil. Then we got either Cathedral, Bloomington South or Cathedral, Floyd Central. Give me Bloomington South, man. They're going to keep the magic alive. This – for me, for me, Dom, this is the season – They break through. That they break through and Bloomington South gets the job done. Okay. So I have Cathedral beating Floyd Central. That hurt. I hurt a little bit. But I have a Cathedral Warsaw State Championship with Cathedral getting it done. Hmm. And you, if my math is correct, have a Bloomington South Warsaw State Championship. With Bloomington South getting it done.
Okay. Wow. There it is, Dom. That's 5A. I – can I say? Say it. No disrespect to 5A. I'm more excited for 4A. I'm so excited for 4A. This just proved it going through it. I mean, like, again, yeah, no disrespect whatsoever. But this is super interesting to me. And how about this? Would this be a fair statement if Cathedral wins 5A, the most under-the-radar Cathedral team in recent memory? Yeah. I mean, like, you were talking about it early on. The Ben Davis loss got you out on Cathedral. I know. And that – it shouldn't have. But it did. It did. And, like, a close game. Like, I was at the Chatard Cathedral game. Again, it was, like, the offsides, re-kick, like, the whole thing there. But, like, I felt like that was Chatard's game. So – And, like, I can't overstate the impressiveness of Cathedral beating St. X out of Ohio and Covington Catholic in the same season. That is so impressive. They're good at football, man. So, Bill Peebles, don't listen to us. We don't know what the heck we're talking about. But it's – 5A is interesting, folks. All right. Let's go to Class 6A, folks. We got eight sectionals to talk about. And this is the class. I mean, this is it. This is the cream of the crop in the state of Indiana. And it's the best for last. So, if you made it the full, like, two-and-a-half-plus hours of this podcast and you're here – You're a real one. Thanks for being here. You're a real one. Hit Dom up and meet us out. We'll have a happy hour before the state game. Honestly? Yeah. We should do, like, a live event or something. If you're listening to this far in the show, hit us up and we'll get you on the invite list.
Yeah. Say that you're listening at the two-hour-plus mark and you still like us. Yep. You'd like to see. Okay. Sectional 1, Spang. We got a rematch. Crown Point and Merrillville, which was a very solid game. A very solid game. Can you remind everyone of what happened in that game? September 4th, it was at Merrillville. Merrillville, 23-14 Crown Point got it done and didn't really have a game that challenged them after that. Have they been resting on their laurels? It could be. Resting on their Lauren. I mean – Lauren Eckstines. Merrillville, they've – I mean, they had a double overtime win against Lafayette. Jeff, then they lost to Crown Point. I mean, they – I mean, the Valpo game, 34-21. Valpo's just kind of lurking, I just want to say. Okay. They put up the most points that Penn has seen this season. Well, we're going to get to them in a second here. I believe – I wish this was a matchup that was in the sectional finals. It's not – you got two weeks to prepare for the game. Yep. Right? You've been working on this since Friday night – since Saturday morning, Friday night, if you're crazy. You've been working on this, steaming up, watching the tape. How many times do you think the coaches have watched – where you watched that game? A lot. A lot, buddy. I think that it is tough to beat a team twice, but I'm going to take the Bulldogs here. I think Crown Point's going to win sectional one. Yep. And I think they're knocking on the door, right? We've talked about Craig Buzia. They got the state in 23, got mowed down by a buzzsaw Ben Davis team that year. Didn't win sectional last year. You can't imagine they're pumped about that. So they want to win sectional, and they want to make a run. I think Crown Point gets it done in sectional number one.
Yep. Lake Central and Harrison out of West Lafayette's that other matchup, by the way. I believe Lake Central will be the winner on the bottom, and that's a pretty close game. But those kids probably know each other. Yeah. Okay, sectional two. Penn, Valpo, Portage, Elkhart. Penn played Valpo first game of the year, like I mentioned. They won 49-24. Again, Valpo, they played Crown Point. They played Merrillville. They played Penn. Look, they're tested. Now, those games didn't go great. However, they know what it takes. What have they done on the win column, Dom? Who has Valpo beat? If I had to pick an impressive win for Valpo, like Chesterton, they beat by seven. They smoked Portage, smoked Lake Central, smoked South Bend Riley. So, you know, I don't know. Like, Bill Marshall's bunch, they won state back in 2022. They know what it takes. He knows what it takes. I'm still probably taking Penn in that matchup. But they might have something for him. How about that? They might have a little something. Yeah. I mean, totally. I agree with that. I still think I'm taking Penn to get the job done and stay unbeaten. Then you have Portage at Elkhart. Yeah, I think Elkhart gets that done. Elkhart's a team that when it comes time to play some teams, they fall short a little bit. Like, they lost to Warren Central, 49-10. They lost to South Bend St. Joe by 20. They lost to Penn by 44. And then had a battle with Mishawaka Marian in 38-28. Are they thinking it's Penn? I think that it's Penn. I mean, that 44-0.
I'm assuming at some point, you know, you'd think that Penn probably put in some other people. And you got to score something. If you want to make a run for me, you got to be on the scoreboard. All right. Sectional 3. We got a mudsock rematch. Oh. Fishers is 0-9. Here's what I'll say, man. If memory serves me, Fishers started as a high school in 2006. 20 years ago in their first season, they went 1-10. They went 1-10 in 2006, getting a sectional victory, 33-7 against Kokomo. Since then, they've won 6-7-9-14-8. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. 14? 14 in 2010, baby. Did they win at all? They won state in 2010. 14 in 1. Only loss came to Hamilton Southeast and the mudsock ravers. Of course it did. But they won state that year. They avenged that loss. 2010, Fishers loses to HSC 40-17 in the regular season. Avenges the loss. Wins 28-0 at sectionals. Okay, see? This is the point. This is the point we're making, this whole stinking podcast. They lost by like 30 to start the season. Four touchdowns. And then blanked them in sectionals. And. Or no, yeah, wait, wait. They lost by 23 in the regular season. Then blanked them 28-0. Sometimes momentum is just what it takes, dude. So what's your point you're making here? The point that I'm making here is that Fishers is on the verge of their worst season in school history. Literally since the beginning of the school in 2006, they have never gone defeated.
They've never had a zero-win season. That first year they had a zero-win regular season and got the dub over Kokomo. Fishers, you're playing for something here. You've got to get this win. Fishers has got to figure it out. I think there's a sophomore quarterback for Hamilton Southeastern type, if I'm not mistaken. And what was their first score of that game? I mean, it wasn't out of, it was 49-35. So. 14 points in the Mudsock rivalry to get your first win of the season. You've got to show up. Got to show up. Honestly, that's what I have there, Dom. If you're part of the Fishers Tigers organization, you got to show up. Okay, then we got Carmel and Westfield, a game that a lot of people are going to be looking at. Battle of the Northside. This game was 38-34 first time they played. All four of Carmel's losses have come to ranked opponents. All by pretty close margins, I would say. They lost to Westfield by four. They lost to Center Grove by two. They lost to Lawrence North by seven. And then their starting quarterback went out of the Warren Central game. They lost by 14. So. So 13 points until the Warren Central game. Yeah. Dude, my gut. Why can't Carmel get it done? My gut says that we're going to see the Carmel Greyhounds make a little run here. That's what I have in my bracket. My gut says we're going to see Carmel make a little run here. Because, like, they're obviously a good team. Like, what can you say? I mean, but they beat themselves in a lot of these games. So you got to clean that stuff up. You got to clean up special teams. Got to clean up penalties. Obviously, we know all about Westfield.
They've made the state championship two years in a row to lose to Brownsburg both times. They lost to Brownsburg 38-14 this year. But winner of that game wins this sectional. And we'll see what happens. And Westfield gets to host? That is correct. That place is going to be rocking. I think I'm going to go. Get it? The rocks? I think I'm going to go. I. Man. Yeah, you said you're going. I think I'm going. That game's going to be fun. I just want to see good football. You could tell me either way. I would not be surprised if Carmel put it together here. That's a four-point loss they're trying to avenge in the postseason. I know. Carmel's good, man. The place is going to be packed. I just remember driving down to Indy as a young kid when Westfield got that first like Jumbotron. Yeah. And thinking, man, that is a special place to play. It's a cool place. It looks like a cool. A lot of good venues. I should have asked Kyle his favorite venue. I didn't ask him. Should have. Okay, sectional four. We got Noblesville and Fort Wayne Carroll. How about Noblesville in the Fort Wayne sectional, by the way? Northrop and Homestead. Okay, so Carroll's pretty dang good, but they came down to Indy second week of the season and Center Grove won 42-17. But they're not playing Center Grove, Dom. They're playing Noblesville. And what's their record? Noblesville record? No, what's everyone's record in sectional? Zero and zero. That's their record right now. All right. I think Noblesville's got their hands full. I won't lie. That's a tall task. Carroll's pretty good. They're good at football up there in Northeast Indiana. My gut says Carroll will win this sectional.
Carroll beat Homestead and Fort Wayne Northrop a combined 102-32. My one caveat would be, hey, I saw Coach Lasky of Noblesville. He was breaking down film all weekend long. He was watching the game. He was breaking down film, and I know he's been in the film room since. I didn't know he coached there until seeing him at the wedding. He was breaking down film at his friend's wedding. So you take what you can get, man. This is a lifestyle. I do think Fort Wayne Carroll gets it done in sectional four. All right. Hey, let's go to sectional five. We got Ben Davis and Avon in the battle of the west side there. And we got Brownsburg and Zionsville. The 7-2 Eagles with just a tough alignment here. Yeah. And, like, I got to give a lot of credit to Scott Turnquist's group because 7-2, I got to tell you, they haven't had a 7-win-plus season since 2021. So, like, really kudos to Zionsville beating the teams you should beat, and your losses are to Westfield and Brownsburg. Like, what do you want me to say? There's no shame in it. That's what it is. What happens when Avon and Ben Davis played earlier this year? 22-12, Avon. I could see them avenging that one. Ben Davis is so frisky, dude. They really are. They only lost to Carmel by four. They beat North Central, which is a nice win. They lost to Warren Central by 17, but that was a close game late. Like, what happens if it's Ben Davis-Brownsburg? Is there a chance, Tom? No. All right. There it is. I'm sorry. Brownsburg is absolutely out of this world, dude. They just are so good. There it is. Like, Kyle was saying that when Center Grove won three state championships in a row, it kind of reminds them of that, where it's just like, they're just clicking.
They're just... Yeah. But it takes one game where Brownsburg's off their game, and they're beating themselves. Now, they don't do that very often. They have very few weaknesses, but what do you want to do? I ask you to judge them by their weaknesses, because they have so few. Next, we got North Central, 2-7 versus Pike, 0-9. Lawrence Central, Lawrence North. A little rivalry there in sectional six. Yeah. Hey, Lawrence North is a team that could cause mayhem. Yes. Okay? They are a team that actually, if I'm correct, kept it the closest with Brownsburg. And by that, they lost by 23. But they put up 25. Like... They're scoring points. They're scoring points, man. Man, I think that it's going to shake out that we will not see the number one wide receiver in the country playing football this year. Unfortunate. It is super unfortunate. But I still think, even without that, they are still frisky. Zay Moore is ridiculous. Yeah. Zay Moore is 100% in the Mr. Football conversation. I've talked about it. Lawrence North is going to win this sectional. All right. There it is. That's what I have for you. Sectional 7, we've got Franklin Central versus Southport to kick it off. Hey, somebody's getting a dub. We've got Warren Central, the undefeated warriors of Warren Central taking on Perry. Decatur Central is going to have the winner of FC and Southport. So that's the only 6A matchup going on Friday is Franklin Central and Southport. Mm-hmm. Decatur Central lost the first game of the year. That pissed them off, so they won eight in a row. Yeah. Who'd they lose to? Avon. 31 to 6. Wow. And they've been on a hot streak since. So Decatur Central won state in class 5A two years ago.
They bump up to 6A. They went 9-3 last year, won sectional. But they got Warren Central in their sectional this year. Warren Central is as good as I remember them being. They're a really, really solid team. They're 9-0. Wait a minute. Spang, we haven't talked about our 9-0. I was just thinking that, D. All right. Wait, wait, wait. Let's go back through here. Let's go back through. Well, let's finish this out. We'll finish this out, and then we'll talk about each team. Actually, that's a good idea. That's not very many 6A teams. But Warren Central's got something special cooking, and I believe they would meet up with Brownsburg in the semi-state. That's a game that I would love to see because I think Warren Central is a team that can give Brownsburg some problems because of how good they are defensively. Remember, they got Caleb Elkins. They got Sean Fox. Okay. They got Keyon Thomas on the offensive side of the football. Anthony Denison's been slinging it around. JT Whitaker's got this team clicking, and I want to see what Warren Central can do. Let's end it out with sectional eight. We got Jeffersonville, Columbus North, Center Grove, and Whiteland. I do think Center Grove wins this, but, you know, Center Grove's kind of been, without their starter, Oscar Sloan, there's some question marks there. Obviously got a big win over Bloomington South. Lost to Lawrence North a couple weeks back, seven and two. We know what Eric Moore can do at the head of, I mean, if you look at Eric Moore's resume, one, two, three, four, five state championships. Dude's a legend. So 320 wins in his career in Indianapolis, which is absolutely insane. But I think Center Grove wins this one.
I do think they probably play Columbus North there. So if I remember correctly, we have both Columbus North and Columbus East in the sectional championships. Oh, I don't. Do we have North? Well, North's in this one right here. How about that? Okay, Spang. So real quick before we get to our undefeated teams here, Randy Fisher mentioned me in his Instagram story. Love that. So here are our regional matchups. Ready? Yep. Crown Point and Penn. I picked Crown Point, but I might be leaning Penn. I might be back on Penn. I might be leaning Penn. I might be Penn. Okay. Give me the Kingsman. Okay. And I have, I actually have Carmel getting out of that sectional. So either Carmel or Westfield versus Fort Wayne Carroll. We saw how my pulse and I'm taking the Greyhounds. Okay. It's going to be Westfield or Carmel. Yeah, for sure. Carroll went down to center or, you know, played center Grove and that didn't go well. So, and then Brownsburg, Lawrence North rematch the first game of the year. Dude, they're going to need to, to pull out everything they have. Lawrence North needs to deepen the playbook, deepen the playbook. I still think it's going to be tough for him. I'm taking Brownsburg. Okay. Warren central center Grove rematch of the first game of the year. Do you want me to remind you how that game went? My gut says that it went in favor of the Warriors of Warren central. 20 to 14. It was close. Bang. I don't, the QB question mark. I need to know if he's healthy. I don't know what his situation is. I'm going to be taking Warren central. Okay. Deal. Okay. So that would mean three undefeated teams in the semi-state here.
So you let that know. You would have an either pen or crown point versus either a Westfield caramel for these purposes. Let's say pen caramel. Yep. So who wins or Westfield car or excuse me, Westfield pen. Am I crazy? No, you're not. I think that coach right. Won't be wrong. I think what? I think you're not crazy because I have caramel in state in this bracket right here. So like, Oh, you were thinking it. All right. I think it's going to be Brownsburg caramel. And I think caramel, and I think that Brownsburg is going to win state. Okay. But that Brownsburg Warren central game electric fireworks. That's going to be a semi-state match. I might be canceling my Thanksgiving. I don't know when Thanksgiving is relative to that game, but I might just be at this game. Okay. So it could be Brownsburg caramel, or it could be a three Pete part three of Brownsburg Westfield in the state championship as well. That'd be the third consecutive time. And you got to get on the right one of them at some point, right? We'll see. Oh man. But I think Spang and I both agree that Brownsburg is the state champion until proven otherwise. Yep. Okay. Exactly. We said that you are, you have the right to be the state champion. You have the right Miranda rights. Yes, sir. All right. Let's talk about these unbeaten teams. Dom, why do we think Brownsburg is so unreal? Because they're led by none other than Branden Sharpe. He's a 112 yards per game, 16 touchdowns. This guy is electric. 112 times nine. That's a thousand yard receiving season. Yeah. He's unreal. I mean, Oscar Frye past 2040 yards, 28 TD passes. So I mean, Hey, six other six, no, what is that number? 12 other touchdowns went to other guys.
Brady Lewis is averaging a hundred yards per game. He's got 14 touchdowns. We know all about Brownsburg. They score points. I think Branden Sharpe is still a leader in the clubhouse when it comes to Mr. Football, but there are a few interesting individuals that might have something to say. One of them being Keyon Thomas, 166 carries, 1537 yards, 21 rushing touchdowns. That's crazy. Anthony Denison, the QB over there. Remember that QB that won the quarterback battle against a division one. Jake Willis. Yeah, buddy. Anthony Denison's 141 for 230, 1984 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, only four interceptions. And Zachariah Wallace, he's going to Western Michigan. He has 532 receiving yards and 11 tutties on the season. We do know crown points got a couple of D1 players on their team. Trevor Gibbs going to IU three-star linebacker recruit and Nolan Cicero going to Ball State. Hey, we like that. You're going to play at the next level. And then how about Penn? Landon Hall's a 2000 yard passer. He's got 34 TDs, just one pick. All right. How about that? And then we got Brayson Hurley, 828 yards receiving, 14 touchdowns. Mason Bernanke, 600 yards receiving, 13 touchdowns. And Cooper Ryle with 15 tackles for loss on the season. Eight sacks is impressive. Yes, sir. He's in the backfield. He's a disruptor. All right, Spang, wait. We do have a Ascend Football Player of the Year. It's time for our Ascend Football Player of the Regular Season, Player of the Year.
Dom, we had some comments saying that we were showing too much love to offensive players and that someone on the defensive end needed to get a little more love. Well, look no further. In that, what I'll say is we've been tracking the stats. Yeah. We had, there was a player lurking on the defense, making all sorts of havoc. And this is our Ascend Football Player of the Year, the Regular Season. I'm calling it Senior. Keenan Mowery-Shields. 116 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, seven sacks. And I think most of the time he found himself in the fourth quarter cheering on his, his JV counterparts. Dude's unreal. Committed to Lindenwood of FCS football over there in Missouri, I believe. Keenan Mowery-Shields, we have heard of you, sir. We have heard of your game. Your stat line is absolutely ridiculous. 116 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, seven sacks. We're going to give love to the defensive side of the football. And you should look no further than Keenan Mowery-Shields, who I believe is either very, very close or broke the all time tackles. I mean, dude, a hundred. For a career, I believe. That's wild. For the state. I think so. I think that's what Greg Reichstraw told me at the beginning. So, of the year. So, thank you to our friends at Ascend Football. That is our player of the regular season. Yeah. And we will keep this player of the week going through the sectionals and everything. Yeah, we will. Dom, final thing we're wrapping out with. What matchups are you excited for in this upcoming week? I'm so happy you asked, Spangle. Matchups I am looking forward to in this first week of sectional play in the great state of Indiana.
I think we have to start in Class 3A. Second ranked Andrean. Sixth ranked Griffith. That is a game you have to watch. That is one of the very best in the state. No question about it. Battle of the region. Whoever wins that game has a very good chance. I would say the best chance of winning that sectional, sectional 25 in Class 3A. Really looking forward to it. Remember, Andrean in 3A after winning the 2A state championship. That's a fun game I'm looking forward to. Yes, sir. We got to go down south and talk about Tecumseh. 8-1, taking on North Daviess, who's undefeated. I mean, that's going to be a matchup to watch. That's a really, really good game in small ball central. North Daviess ranked third. Tecumseh ranked sixth. That's a great call right there, Spang. No doubt about it. Okay, elsewhere, we're going to head to 2A, arguably the best matchup in the state of Indiana. We just talked about Keenan Mowery-Shields. Second ranked, undefeated South Putnam in their first year in Class 2A, traveling to Cascade, the defending 3A state champion. So we have a battle of the defending 1A state champion, the defending 3A state champion in a 2A sectional. How does that make sense? Well, it's the second ranked team in Class 2A and the seventh ranked team in Class 2A. South Putt and Cascade, grab your popcorn. I think that's when I would be at. That's when Kyle Neddenriep is going to. Oh, I love that, dude. That's going to be a heck of a game. Again, another weekend that we're traveling, so I can't be there. Of course we're traveling. Of course, man. Final matchup I'm looking forward to is a battle of the 11th and 12th ranked teams in Class 1A. Madison Grant and Caston.
Dude, that's a great matchup. I'm very excited. I think this is, I believe, again, I've been following the Caston Athletics page on Twitter. It's great. I believe this is the best team in Caston history. Whoa. Big number 45 is running the ball with some emphasis. Tucker Wolver. Yes, sir. I think that it's going to be a heck of a matchup with the Argyles and the Comets, and I'm excited for that one. Other one, honorable mention. Two honorable mentions. Heritage Hills at Jasper. Great game. Very deciding down there for that sectional. And Tippy Valley, Jimtown. This was a two-point matchup, right? 17-15 earlier in the season. That is going to be a good one. So many matchups. Let us know in the comments what game you were the most excited for. This has been an electric episode, Dom. Thank you for anyone who's still here at the end.
