Clear your schedule and bring your appetite because Powers Hamburgers is attempting a world record on Wednesday, July 16, and they need your help to make it happen!

A Fort Wayne hidden gem since 1940, this legendary downtown diner is famous for its onion-packed sliders, retro vibes, and no-frills charm. Now, they’re aiming to set a single-day slider sales record by tracking how many they sell throughout the day. No registration needed. Just stop by, order your favorites, and be part of the effort to put Fort Wayne on the map as the official Slider Capital of the World. Every single slider counts!

The Week Leading Up: Powers Fest (July 10–16)

To celebrate the world record attempt, Powers is hosting Power Fest, a weeklong celebration filled with nostalgia, food and family fun. Here’s what’s in store:

  • Thursday, July 10: Late-night cravings welcome. Powers will stay open until 2 a.m., and the first 12 Powers Packs (12 sliders each) sold after midnight will come with a free Powers coffee mug.

  • Saturday, July 12: Bring the kids! Enjoy special kids' meals, face painting, and balloon creations—perfect for the whole family.

  • Monday, July 14: Car lovers, this one’s for you. A classic car show will take over the lot. Show up and register in person for a spot.

  • Tuesday, July 15: The famous Slider-Eating Contest returns! Will someone finally top the record of 20? Come hungry and cheer them on.

  • Wednesday, July 16: WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT DAY! Stop by Powers Hamburgers, grab a few sliders, and help a hometown favorite make history.

Address: 1402 S. Harrison St., Fort Wayne, IN
