Southern Indiana Renaissance Faire (Seymour)
The biggest and longest-running Ren Faire in the state. Five themed weekends at Swifty Farms in Seymour, each with its own costume vibe and special events.
When: April 25 through May 24, 2026 (weekends only)

Expect full-contact jousting, an artisan village, kid-friendly Fantasy Forest, live music, and food from turkey legs to honey mead. Single-day tickets are valid any day; weekend passes include both Saturday and Sunday of one weekend.
Indiana Renaissance Faire (Nineveh)
Hosted at Johnson County Park, this two-weekend faire features multiple stages, swordplay, horseback jousting, and a village marketplace.

Great Camelot Renaissance Faire (Peru)
A two-day faire on the grounds of the International Circus Hall of Fame, combining Renaissance theatrics with traveling circus history. Over 40 live shows and 30 vendors.

Michiana Renaissance Festival (Mishawaka)
A two-day festival in the South Bend area featuring period performers, vendors, and family entertainment.

New Castle-Henry County Renaissance Festival (New Castle)
A free, one-day, family-friendly festival in downtown New Castle put on by a local nonprofit. Includes aerial acrobatics, Shakespeare performances, falconry, live music, and artisan vendors.

Tips for first-time Ren Faire goers
Dress the part
One of the best parts of a Renaissance Faire is the chance to dress up. You don't need a full costume to fit in. Even a simple peasant shirt, a flower crown, or a leather belt pouch is enough to feel part of the world. Goodwill is a solid budget option, and dedicated Ren Faire vendors at each event sell everything from corsets to elf ears if you'd rather buy on-site. Bonus points for matching family outfits.
Embrace the immersion
Phones come out at every modern event, but Ren Faires reward the ones who put theirs away. Chat with the cast in character, watch the joust from the front rail, sit through a full show instead of catching a clip. The whole experience runs better when you let it.
Stop by the tavern
Every Indiana faire has a tavern or alehouse with mead, ale, and themed drinks. They're also the best spots to catch live music between scheduled performances, including the occasional lute cover of a current pop song. Bring cash; some smaller vendors are cash-only.
Plan for the weather
Most Indiana Ren Faires run rain or shine. May weekends in Seymour can swing from 50 degrees to 80; August in Peru can hit the 90s. Layer, wear comfortable shoes, and bring sunscreen and water. Costume photos are great until you're standing in full chainmail at 4 p.m.
