Spring in Central Indiana means egg hunts, bunny photos, and family memories in the making. If you’re looking for the best Easter fun in 2026, here are five can’t-miss events happening around the Indianapolis area.
1. Westfield Egg Drop

The annual Westfield Egg Drop is one of the largest in central Indiana. Thousands of eggs are scattered across a wide field at Grand Park Sports Campus for kids to collect in timed waves. Expect bounce houses, games, food vendors, and plenty of festive energy.

2. Bunnysaurus Rex at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis
When: March 29, 2026, 8:30-10 a.m.
If your kids love dinosaurs, this one is unforgettable. Bunnysaurus Rex Egg Hunt is a fun prehistoric adventure inside the museum’s famous Dinosphere® or Monsters of the Mesozoic® and National Geographic Treasures of the Earth®. Choose the right egg hunt path with one of two trackways: the T. rex Toddler Trail (ages 0-3) or the faster moving Raptor Route (ages 4+). In addition to the themed egg hunts, attendees can enjoy spring crafts, a dino obstacle course, exclusive exhibit access to Tiana’s Joyful Celebration® and PAW Patrol: Adventure Play®, explore the Dino Art Lab and American POP!® exhibits, and more.
It’s also a great option if Indiana weather decides not to cooperate. Plus, it adds a creative twist to the traditional egg hunt experience. Tickets required!

4. Easter Egg 5K in Downtown Indianapolis
When: April 4, 2026
For families who like to stay active, the Easter Egg 5K in downtown Indianapolis offers the best of both worlds – a scenic run or walk (or kids 80-yard dash!) followed by kid-friendly egg hunts and post-race festivities. 5. Classic Small-Town Egg Hunts
Don’t forget to check out what’s happening right in your own town. Many local parks departments, churches, libraries, and small businesses host Easter egg hunts, spring festivals, and family activities that don’t always make the big regional event lists. These hometown celebrations often feel more personal, less crowded, and easier to attend, especially with little ones. Check your city’s Facebook page, parks and recreation website, or community bulletin boards for announcements. You might be surprised to find a hidden gem Easter event just minutes from home.
